He took a seat by her side and she heaved a sigh of relief. Next came Raphael and Jake. The sisters followed closely behind and they all took seats close to Hermione. Lang Lang leaned towards Hermione and whispered the names of some lycans. She pointed at a blonde Lycan, who was "Nate", and a sexy brunette, “Raine”, two identical males. She identified them as “Troy and Moran” and a particularly large Lycan “asher”.

Her Texas accent grates on my nerves as she jabbers on and points to some other equally excited female fans who wave at Ash. She even dares to wave them over. Instead she used that momentary weakness to swing her claws around and catch Asher square in the stomach. As he doubled over she landed another blow into his back before she grabbed onto his shoulder and sent him flying backwards.

The scolding and the sharp slap of words came together. “You…” Liz stared in surprise at Asher, who pushed through the crowd, holding a paper cup of coffee and carrying a backpack. “Were they the ones barking all this time?” Asher casually pointed at Lana and Laura. Liz’s two “friends” were shocked and stared at Asher. His appearance was unexpected, as was his handsome face. Asher tied his slightly long hair back, pulling away the strands that usually covered part of his face, revealing his features perfectly—and they were perfect. His appearance was casual, wearing a denim jacket and a white T-shirt, but still flawless, supported entirely by his rugged, masculine Italian looks.

Lila Vanessa recovered first, straightening and flipping her hair over one shoulder like we were just old friends caught mid-conversation. “Lord Asher,” she cooed, lips curling into what I’m sure the thought was meant to be inviting. “You’re just in time. We were admiring Elena’s… fashion statement.” His eyes didn’t even flick to her. “Is that what you call attempted murder-by-merlot?” The girls behind her tittered, but it was uncertain now. Because Asher wasn’t smiling. Not at all.

Her tear-stained face alerts him instantly, but it is her words that breaks his heart. “She’s dead! Luna Lisa is dead!” The omega sobs hysterically. Asher storms out of the pack house, and I’m hot on his heels. I gasp at the sight the moment we walk into the hospital. There is blood everywhere and I feel my heart shatter as I realize that Lisa was killed. From the looks of things, she fought her attacker. Asher spends only a moment looking at the awful sight before he starts to search for a scent. Our first reaction is that it might be someone from my old pack.
