Kim teased with a mischievous glint. Ten chuckled. “Sky’s got the most screen time already.” Sky flushed. “It’s not like that!” Night slowly turned his head toward Kim, his usual calm gaze sharp with warning. “Kim.” Kim only laughed harder, unfazed. “Okay, okay, relax. You don’t have to glare. I’m just teasing! “How did that turn out?” “He committed suited by swallowing a pill.” I know that it wasn’t funny and that I am not supposed to laugh. Drew muttered. Something about her tone, or perhaps it was the truth of what she said, made him laugh. Once he started, he couldn’t stop. For a second, I forgot about Ami’s monitors, the stench of antiseptic, Skye’s vanishing acts, and the endless weight pressing on my shoulders. I felt... happy.
