Katherine Thomas Chapter 1 There is only one planet that we know of that holds life. It is the Earth. Our home. However, there is a small percentage of the population that never lost their true parentage. They know where they really come from, and it isn’t Earth’s perfection. They are called to watch the stars. They can see the differences that the normal humans can’t see. They instinctively know they came from the heavens. They are the ones who call themselves the Seeds of the Stardust.

The troops grew even closer as Nya skirted across the open space toward the rise in stone where the doorway to the staircase protruded from the flat walkway. Reaching the barrier, she tried the knob and found it locked. Slate signaled for her to stand aside and then used his brute strength to force the door open. With a nod, she entered the dark stairwell, Slate right behind her. In front of her, she saw nothing but darkness--save the glowing, round white spheres that could be nothing other than a set of eyeballs. “Zans!” Nya cursed, wondering what had gone wrong. They weren’t alone after all.

She stared into his dark brown eyes and watched as he stroked his chin as if he was attempting to formulate the best response possible. "They know." Viennashal was expecting him to say that. When I opened the door, a blast of cold air hit me like a wave. It reminded me of that scary time after a really tough delivery, when I was shivering and truly thought that I might not make it. Matthew Smith's voice came from behind me, sounding totally surprised. "Shirley? It's freezing out there. Come on in!" He did not even seem to care that I was sporting a six-month old baby bump. He pushed me aside roughly, but he was super gentle with the person he was bringing inside.

Carved into the door were various symbols, each seemingly more intricate than the last. At the top of the door, a crescent moon shape was carved, with an arrow pointing towards the sky. Below it was a series of Celtic knot patterns weaved together, forming a complex design that seemed to shift and move in the light. On either side of the door, two large curved horns protrude, giving the door a fierce and primal appearance. In the center of the door, a large, ornate lock dominates the space with a keyhole-shaped like a wolf's paw print. The lock was adorned with strange markings and symbols etched into the metal in a language that looked ancient and forgotten.

The labels over the doors here were smaller and more cramped, as if the system didn’t consider these paths as “premium content.” JAX / JAX MARTIN – EARLY RELEASE. JAX – BETRAYAL EXIT. The walls and ceilings were nothing peculiar and kind of similar to every Asian traditional house in the so-called actual world. They reached a bigger and presentable door unique from the others. Yuna perused at the beautiful carvings flawlessly engraved on the door, inscribing every detail of known fantasy. Dragons, nymphs, mermaids, Pegasus, and many more, but never a sign of humans except elves which looked like one. Manasseh twisted the knob and pushed the big wooden brown door open, revealing a sanctuary. Shelves met the domed ceiling full of illustrations regarding stars and constellation, and in the middle is a big tan globe.

The Celestial Abode immediately shrunk and transformed back into a ring, sliding back onto James’ finger. When he appeared outside, he saw a golden light shining on a mountain opposite him. He immediately flashed over to the mountain. When he appeared on the mountaintop, he saw the Divine Door. The Divine Door was 100 meters high and 30 meters wide. The Divine Door was shut closed, and mysterious inscriptions were engraved on it. James walked over. As soon as he got close, he sensed powerful energy from the door. “This is a fascinating door.” James was shocked. He looked around and saw the crowd of prodigies on the mountain. All of them were powerhouses of different races from the universe.

I followed Claire down the central corridor, past a glass-walled conference room where three people sat around a table covered in documents, past a row of closed doors with no nameplates, past a wall of windows that looked out over the city at an angle that made everything below look small and very far away. I had read about this building. I had studied this man's professional history across fourteen pages of notes written at two in the morning. But walking through the space where he actually operated was different. Everything up here had been chosen. Every surface, every place, every degree of silence.
