Teresa’s serene gaze settled on a tray of lemon cookies; their raspberry glaze was glistening with a mix of a frosty outer layer and the edible glitter that Charlotte had found in a back shelf. “I think we would like two dozen of those, please.” Charlotte’s smile shot into a genuine one, and she rushed to locate a travel box. “These are my favorites,” Lotte stuttered, hurrying to get the cookies packaged and yet also minding to handle them with care. “I am thinking of doing some blueberry cookies tomorrow, with a dark cherry glaze… In case you want to come back.”

If the place where half as good as the internet said it was, how had he not heard of it? “It has four and a half stars, so I guess it would be pretty good.” Amy replied. “And it says on their website that the special for the week is apple cinnamon waffle with oat milk latte which is a relief because my lactose intolerant ass can’t handle regular milk.” She explained as she held up her screen for him to see the café’s website.

Kat was sitting in the occasional chair in Luisette’s bedroom with the bowl of full cream ice cream in a Cookies ‘n’ Cream flavour drizzled with extra chocolate and sprinkled with chopped nuts. A high protein sweet treat that she had whipped up into a melted smooth texture. Kat dipped the spoon into the ice cream, dragging it decadently through the treat and then lifted it to her mouth, tipping it upside down into her mouth so the ice cream melted against her tongue as she sucked on the spoon.

From my seated position, the cookies are at perfect eye level, and against my better judgment, I pick one off the top of the pile. It's dark brown and brittle. A few pieces flick off as I lower the cookie closer to the small plate my cup of coffee sits on. Burnt doesn't begin to describe the abomination in my hand. It looks like she put the cookie through torture. "What kind are they?" I ask before bringing the cookie to my lips. "Chocolate chip." Tabitha grins, looking down at the plate. "They're a little burnt." A little burnt is an understatement. That's like saying the Titanic nudged an icicle.

I came looking for you.” “I need to do another tray of these cookies,” she says. “I’m almost out up front, and they’re a popular seller.” “Cookies,” I say, pinning her with a look. “Cookies,” she replies. “Cranberry macadamia nut with white chocolate. You can try one when they come out of the oven if you want.” Autumn makes a show of evenly spacing each scoop of cookie dough, giving it all her focus like it’s the most important thing she’s ever done. She’s obviously trying to pretend everything is fine, acting cheerful and light, but she still won’t look at me.

I put sugar and cocoa in a large skillet, then the butter and a little milk. While we were waiting for that to boil, I took out the vanilla extract, extra crunchy peanut butter and oatmeal. I asked my mate, “Do you like coconut?” He shrugged, “I don’t really like it.” I took out the aluminum foil and asked my mate, I need two fairly large sheets of this on the island. When it started boiling, I had to keep stirring for a minute, then I turned off the heat and took it to the island. I added the vanilla, then kept stirring and asked Joshua, “Would you please ad

Claudette responded. The maid named Leticia slightly covered her mouth. “Oops, my bad. I’m sorry, My Lady,” then, she grinned once again. “Would you like some, My Lady?” Claudette looked at the basket of cookies that the maid was offering her. The cookies had flowers engraved on it with a strawberry jam in the middle. She nodded and took the offer, getting one cookie and took a bite on it. Her mouth was filled with white vanilla filling and strawberry jam from the cookie.

She and Damien show the technique in unison, making me swoon internally. Inviting him might have been too much. I can’t handle both him and Lola simultaneously. They’re lactation cookies and taste so good that I could eat fifty of them. They’re also healthy enough to eat for breakfast while still tasting like a treat. Chef grabs a small plate and sets two of the large cookies on it before handing it over to me. I take the plate and immediately take a huge bite out of one and groan happily. “So good.”
