Charlotte POV: "Do you think I made enough cookies?" I stared at the piles and piles of freshly baked cookies that were covering every inch of the counter. I made a small variety of shortbread, chocolate chip macadamia cookies, chocolate chip cookies, and macadamia cookies. The chocolate chips and nuts sunk deeply into the soft, baked dough, making sure that the eater had a taste of them with each and every bite. "If Timothy stops eatin' them they'll be more than enough." Raven sneered.

Chef Steven pointed to a baking tray filled with already-baked red velvet sponge cake. "Know what this is?" he asked. Valeria resisted the urge to roll her eyes. "Red velvet sponge cake," she replied flatly. "Good. One of our customers wants red velvet, but not the usual cake," Chef Steven continued. Valeria frowned, unsure where this was going. Chef Steven pointed to the tray. "You need to make something with that as the main ingredient. The catch? Only four or five ingredients allowed. You have exactly twenty minutes. The guest is still on the appetizer, so work fast," he said before turning and walking out the door.

My cookie, adorned with a somewhat lopsided heart, hadn't turned out as I'd hoped. "Oh, come on, it's not that bad," I muttered, feeling a little self-conscious. Amy, still chuckling, offered a playful verdict. "You know what? You can eat this cookie. I'm sorry, Raven, but I don't think we can save it at this point." I frowned at my culinary mishap but complied, taking a bite of the cookie in question. The moment it touched my taste buds, my frown disappeared. These cookies were nothing short of a culinary masterpiece, balancing crunchiness, softness, and a symphony of flavors.

From my seated position, the cookies are at perfect eye level, and against my better judgment, I pick one off the top of the pile. It's dark brown and brittle. A few pieces flick off as I lower the cookie closer to the small plate my cup of coffee sits on. Burnt doesn't begin to describe the abomination in my hand. It looks like she put the cookie through torture. "What kind are they?" I ask before bringing the cookie to my lips. "Chocolate chip." Tabitha grins, looking down at the plate. "They're a little burnt." A little burnt is an understatement. That's like saying the Titanic nudged an icicle.

I scrunched my nose, pointing at Carl's plate. "That's because he saved us, Ang!" Carl was smirking when I looked at him. Then picking up a cookie, he shoved it in his mouth but not before passing me a wink. He was obviously enjoying it. Nutella cookies are my favourite and I need a total amount of 15-20 cookies to fill my stomach and what could these fine do? But at least I still get to eat them. I sulked as he continued to eat the cookies with the smirk still intact.

I whispered as my eyes bore into his. "Whatever smart ass, do you want it or not." Are you kidding? Red velvet cake? Of course I want it. I nodded, as he bent, too close, way too close that I could even smell his cologne. He brought the cake to my mouth, and I let him feed me. The velvet cake melted on my tongue, sweet, buttery, with a hint of cocoa. My taste buds tinkled as I continued chewing on the cake with my eyes closed, trying not to moan. I felt Jace soft thumb grazed my lips, brushing a crumb off, I licked his finger unknowingly.

Alexandria uttered as she zooms in the other details of the ocean themed wedding cake. "What flavor did he choose?" She questioned without looking at Jingfei. Jingfei chewed her food first and drank some iced tea, "Lemon and Red Velvet. Alexandria took a glimpse at Jingfei, her expression saying, "You're not joking right?", In which Jingfei replied, "Nope! I'm not! It's truly lemon and red velvet but I was thinking of letting him have a taste of the other flavors that I will be bringing to him for tomorrow's taste test, just in case he will change his mind."

I didn’t want to seem insensitive after making her spend more time with me when she had her own house. “Ouu, what’s baking… smells good.” Raffael adjusted his cufflinks as he descended the stairs, Ronan trailing after him. Your human flesh would be what’s in the oven if you keep complimenting her. “Peanut butter cookies,” Rosella smiled from where she was making careful shapes on the oven tray. “Without—” “Yes, without vanilla extract,” she said quickly. “I know you’re allergic.” He’s allergic to vanilla extract? “I didn’t know you were allergic to vanilla,” I said slowly.

He interrupted flatly and Isa hummed. “Then there’s the uhm key lime, which is still experimental but it’s pretty good as well. And lastly the good old fashioned red velvet” The last of her words coaxed in a whisper and he grabbed the fork from the plate that held all four delicacies. Before he dug into it, he looked up at her. His Adam’s apple danced in the back of his throat and then he turned away. “Which do you recommend?” Leonardo’s voice was low and helpless. He took a bit of the red velvet. “Too common” He said and she bit into her lips. “I’m in no place to have an opinion, sir”

My face turned into a thinking one. "Ummm.... What should I bake for dessert?" I asked myself while tapping my chin with my index finger. I snapped my fingers when a delicious idea came into my mind. "Red Velvet cookies they are!" I took out all the necessary things before placing them on the island in front of me. The kitchen feels warm against the crisp autumn air, and the smell of melted butter and sugar already fills the room, promising something sweet.
