I vacuumed a bit and stepped back out of the cage. The lock engaged automatically. I exhaled, trying to shake the strange feeling in my chest, and turned toward the rest of the room. Two couches waited on the thick burgundy carpet, facing the caged bed. One was a single black leather armchair almost throne-like. Straps dangled from the arms and legs, leather cuffs matching the ones on the bed, buckled open. But why a couch? Who would sit there… and be held there? My fingers brushed one strap as I wiped the armrest. It made my skin prickle.

Two comfortable-looking guest chairs sat in front of the table. On the far right of the office, there is a long couch that can accommodate three people and two single-seaters on either side, with a glass center table adorned by a peace lily in a white vase. The room is dimly lit. The glass window behind the couch is partially covered by a three-layer curtain with a clip that holds them together, bearing an emblem. It must be the official logo of the pack.

I nodded, “I can see that. Thank you. Does this style have an option with armrests, or removable armrests?” Kai held up one finger, smiling, “One moment.” He searched in the leather bag that he brought with him and pulled out two armrests. He put the armrests on the chair and smiled, “See? It is more versatile than it looks. The platform also comes off to replace with footrests, if you need a smaller profile in front.”

She had never expected to see a plane that contained lamps, faux plants, curtains, and a dining room table. "This is where we sit," Cassandra instructed her when they'd reached the row of armchairs. On the left side, were two recliner chairs with a retractable television screen. On the other side, was a dining room table surrounded by four chairs. Of course, every piece of furniture was bolted down in some way. A flight attendant once explained to her that in order to keep objects from flying around if they hit turbulence, they had to install a sheet of metal into the core of each table. Then the base of each lamp and vase contained a magnet, which would keep them in place.

RAYMOND'S POV As I stepped into the grand hall, I was greeted by a long, rectangular table that stretched out before me. The table, as usual, was attentively set with laptops, papers, and a vase filled with white flowers. It added a touch of elegance to the scene. The chairs around the table were of brown leather material, and neatly arranged. Everyone was already seated, and the presentation had begun not long before I pulled in.

Controllable. That was the point. I turned to the rest of the room. Three couches on the right side. Two long, facing each other. One shorter in the middle, positioned to face both. A low glass table sat between them, bare except for a single orchid in a white pot. The flower was perfect—too perfect. Fake, probably. Or real and replaced daily. Either way, it wasn't there for beauty. It was there for show. The couches were upholstered in a cream-colored fabric that looked soft but felt stiff. The kind of furniture designed to be looked at, not sat in. Guests would perch on the edge, uncomfortable, reminded that they didn't belong here.

“Anyways, We need to get down to it. I don’t know how long any of us will be here.” Zayden and I both stand up and step out from our chairs before sliding them back in. The style of the sitting area both complimented and contrasted with the marble design of the other furniture. The sitting area had an upgraded, modern feel with a plush ivory couch with multiple pillows and two high-back claw foot chairs with ivory seats and ivory wicker back design amid the oak wood structure of the frame. The small round coffee table and matching end tables were also oak with the same curved claw foot design. The rug in this area seemed to be a heavy Mexican wool blend. I almost run into his back from my rubbernecking when he stops at a semi-circular desk area with a large coffee machine set to a side. "Two coffees, one black and one with sugar," Trey shouts in the direction of the guy behind the machine before he turns us around again. The quick movements start to give me whiplash. I couldn't be happier to see the three orange-ish couches in a circle centered around a large coffee table in the middle. On the couch to our right, the guy I met as Finn on Thursday sits with his arm around a skinny woman with dark brown curly hair. Both their mouths are slightly open and she looks back at Finn with an unasked question in her eyes. Shock?

One was gray and the other a greenish gray. In the center of the room was a round coffee table with four drawers. A flat screen TV hung on the wall with an old entertainment center under it. The area was defined with a bright red rug with golden roses.
