My bottle crashes to the floor, my bag slides off my shoulder and my books spill out. Great. With another sigh, I squat to pick up the books that are slowly getting drenched by the water leaking out of my damaged bottle. To think it is a new flask. If this isn’t a sign that the whole semester will be awful, I don’t know what else is. I don’t look up to the owner of the feet that appear in my line of vision but I can easily tell it’s a guy with big feet. My jaw ticks when he attempts to pick my books off the ground.

I barely slept last night preparing for this day. "UGH!!!" In my frustration I accidentally knocked the book on my table and it hit the ground with a loud thud. Ace immediately ran and picked the book up. "What the hell are you doing!?" He yelled. "Books are precious artifacts for learning and you just throw them away because I am keeping you company!?" He flared up in anger and he inspected how much damage I have caused on the book. In that moment, I realized that I am not so unlucky after all. PRINCE Ace is a bookworm.

Everything inside me goes still. My mind tries to reject it, but my body reacts first. My eyes stay locked on the words in disbelief. My knees buckle. The book falls from my hand and lands on the floor with a heavy thud. I barely feel myself going down. One second ago I was standing, and now I am on the ground. The cold stone bites into my palms as I try to steady myself too late. The hidden library looks like what they haven’t taken care of in a long while, so the floor looks dirty and rusted.

"You're a cripple now, so let's see how you're going to fight me now." Suddenly, his hand tilted, and the entire glass of scalding hot milk poured over my arm. A sharp, burning pain exploded through my nerves as I grunted in pain, and my crutch slipped from my grip. I lost balance and crashed heavily to the floor. A searing agony ripped through my leg, and cold sweat from pain soaked my back. But what broke me more was the music box that tumbled from my arms and clattered onto the floor with a crisp crack.

Silly cravings, right. I was shaking my head ata my appetite when I stepped out. Once I got to the sidewalk, my thoughts shifted to Alex and the documents. I had no perfect plans as to what I would do yet. I didn’t even know who I could trust. But I knew I had to silence these crazy women who were spilling lies about Alex. I was still walking when I heard shouts behind me. I turned —- It was too late. A bicycle was cycling towards me and before I could escape it, it crashed onto my side, sending me to the ground. I felt the hot coffee burning my skin before everything went black.

Books flew from the shelves. Ancient pages burned in silver flames. The floor cracked beneath their feet. 😱 Ayesha fell to her knees. Lyra stumbled backward. And Ilyaan stood frozen. Unable to move. Unable to breathe. 💔 Only one sentence echoed inside his mind.

It is really dark back here in the back of the room and I have to admit, as much as this library is one of my favorite places, it is a little creepy in this unused part, with the dim lighting and cobwebs. I duck around the corner quickly, trying to make my escape as fast as I can. My head is down and I am trying to calm my breathing when I suddenly slam into what feels like a brick wall. I drop my book, my purse, and the bag of half-eaten pretzels as I fall backward, landing with an undignified thud on the floor. “Ow.”

I come crashing down ontop of the book shelf. Groaning from the impact on my right shoulder. Moving as fast as I can, I dart my way back through the shelves of books heading to the front of the library. Trying to get him as faraway from Michelle and Mrs. Honey for there chance to flee. The Vampire's voice echos through the air " You can run all you want little wolfie, but you can't hide from me!" Fast paced foot steps can be heard on the the wood flooring, followed by another loud crash of shelves falling into one another. I'm about to make a dash through the heavy bronze doors.

I couldn't. A second later, the desk was obliterated. A deafening crack filled the room as the pit bull tore straight through it, wood and glass shattering everywhere. I dashed toward the bookshelves again, my hands fumbling as I clawed at the ledges, pulling myself up. The second dog rammed into the shelf just as I lifted my foot off the ground. It shook violently, books tumbling down, but I climbed higher, kept climbing higher— A hand gripped my ankle. My scream died in my throat.
