Inside the Darkness

Inside the Darkness

'' The doorman began to swipe the card and asked for the card information and then when he finished charging the money, he smiled and told the girls: ''Welcome girls to Crossroads, have a great time! Charlotte heard this and smiled and looked at her friend, they both held hands and started walking inside. Being inside, Charlotte let go of her friend's hand and began to see the whole place a little surprised, because there were red LED lights everywhere, plus there was an area where the DJ played and it was decorated in a very dark and elegant way, the place was big but cozy, had a bar where they served and delivered all the drinks, Charlotte was very excited and happy to be there when sudden

The Pack's Triquetra

The Pack's Triquetra

Aislen thought that she could see the dust of the bricks drifting down under the pressure of the wind. It was a double laned bridge, without safety rails, designed for trains, to breeze across, not for cars and Utes with their rubber wheels to straddle or drive over the slick surface of the metal tracks in the rain and wind. “Stay to the middle,” Heath said under his breath. “We’ve done this before, the other night.” “Why is it scarier now?” Cameron wondered.

Fantastic follow up to the first book. I keep going back to the first one to reread the corresponding chapters. It’s so good to see all the perspectives. I cannot wait to see what happens next. Such a clever way to present a story. I’m hooked. I’ll read anything this author puts out at this point.

When Roads Collide

When Roads Collide

A silent rebellion against the unspoken rules of our home. Sometimes, after school, if Zane was distracted, Zye would linger near the main gate. Morison, bless his heart, would find an excuse to be busy nearby. Zye would talk, her voice soft, about her day, about her dreams of far-off places. I’d listen, offering quiet observations. Those moments, few and far between, were oxygen. They reminded me that not everyone in the world, not even in that house, saw me as an infection of poverty.

CRIMINAL PASSION

CRIMINAL PASSION

“It’s just a road, Camile. Relax.” The headlights cut through the pitch black as I drive on. Low branches start to scrape the car’s roof, and a few rain drops speckle the windshield. The road finally ends in a vacant lot, protected by an extensive barbed-wire fence. There’s a rusty sign stuck in the ground: DANGER! DO NOT CROSS. We look at each other. The infamous instruction sign. Camile grips the grab handle on the car roof so hard her fingers have gone purple, as if we’re heading to a slaughterhouse. I drive around the lot to park the car at a safe distance in case someone shows up.

Double cross

Double cross

The world moved forward around them, oblivious, but some lines had already been crossed — lines that could never be uncrossed. Amaka’s absence hung in the air, a quiet, persistent reminder of mortality and the darkness that had already touched their lives. And in the midst of exams, prayers, and fleeting laughter, it became clear: for some, the game had only just begun.

I Crossed Miles to Say Goodbye

I Crossed Miles to Say Goodbye

Third-Person POV Meanwhile, Xavier had his head down as he tended to Tiffany's arm after her allergy flared up. Red rashes covered the entire length of her arm, and she'd even scratched some spots to the point that they were bleeding. Xavier held up a cotton swab, his movements gentle. "Does it hurt?" "A little," she replied. "Hang on a little longer, okay? We're almost done." His phone buzzed in his pocket. He fished it out and glanced at the screen, noting the message from Serena that read, "Let's break up, Xavier."

The Hidden Luna

The Hidden Luna

The route shuddered as if that distinction itself burned. The route creature dragged itself forward another inch, all stolen mouths trembling with effort. “First crossing joins scent to memory,” it whispered. “Second crossing joins memory to future. Third crossing makes the pair a road.” Its grey eyes fixed on us with wet, fascinated hunger. “The old line failed because it could never force both hearts to open at once. But you…” It shivered. “You keep reaching for each other voluntarily.” “That is the least seductive sales pitch I have ever heard,” I said.

Lines Crossed For Love

Lines Crossed For Love

Samantha Newburg
The stares in the corridor became less obvious and the furor around such an oddball couple died down and that was when spending time with Keion Hamadi became less painful for Ceanna. One day she was walking up to school from the Alcombey Infant School and a car slowed down beside her. At first she ignored it, but when the driver hooted their horn, she turned her head. Coming face to face with Keion Hamadi she sighed inwardly and waved when he did. Opening his window, he said, “Hop in.” It was ‘the tone’ that brooked all argument without being an authoritative frequency. So to avoid grief, Ceanna did as she was told, which made Keion smile from ear to ear.

CRUZ

CRUZ

Becky Anyanwudear maria lyrics
"The rumor concerning CRUZ company...you didn't hear it?" "CRUZ company? I didn't hear about that, what was it about?" "CRUZ company was accused of producing fake designs and forging other companies' designs of paintings. It was all over the news, Clara." There was a hint of shock and surprise in Ella's voice.
