Rosie asked, looking up at the woman.
“Kind of, yes. I’m an illustrator. I draw pictures for books,” she said, and handed her business card to Rosie. “My name is written on it if you ever want to check my works. You know, I got my first set of these when I was your age. I promise, those pencils are cool,” she winked.
“Is it okay?” Rose looked at me, showing up the big set of pencils so I could see the price tag.
“Of course, cupcake. It is your day,” I nodded and couldn’t have been less bothered by the money.
