Heavy footsteps fill the silence as the boys move to the stage, I squeeze my lips as the first group start their introduction, not caring to look at them. I can identify them by their voices. They are halfway gone with the introductions when it hits me that someone is missing. I raise my hand, Miss Jota nods. “Yes, Tessa?” A lump forms on my throat when different pairs of eyes turn to me, I say, “Curt is not here.” “Curtis?” That’s his full name. I nod and she pulls out a note from under the scripts. “He quit.”

She turned, about to move out of the room, when Dobah called her back. "I believe I am speaking for others too when I say I don't know what's going on. Curtis, is Claire your mate?" Curtis stifled the urge to roll his eyes, at the ancient's interference. He didn't want anything to do with Claire, at least not anytime soon. He hoped they would respect that. However, he nodded. Gasps escaped from the lips of the people who had been unaware of this, as if his nod had been the confirmation to their doubts.

As they both turned back to their human form , completely exhausted ,marked by each other scents ,entangled forever. The purpose of night was finally fulfilled, they were marked. The child was safe .But the curse was the curse cured or there something more.. More to the destiny of theirs

“You look like you’ve been dragged to hell, and even hell didn’t want ya and sent you packin’.” “That’s the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me,” I tease, rolling my eyes. “You’re a real southern gentleman, Curtis.” He waves me off with one of his huge, calloused hands. Curtis is average height and portly, but his strength is truly incredible. His stained white shirt is coated in sweat while he yanks and fumbles with the chainsaw, mumbling curses under his breath. I find his company comforting in a way I can’t explain. “Are there… big animals out here?”

In addition, he has a look that attracts females' attention, but I'm not one of them. "Is he? Is he the one you replaced with me?” I turned to Curt in disbelief when he suddenly said that. It was obvious to him that he was ready to punch someone because of the folding of his two fists. Doctor Manson and Curt are of the same body and height so I don't know what to expect. If they just hit each other a few times, they would both fall I suppose. "Curt, we are not, and we never will be. Don't let other people sympathize with that illusion of yours," I yelled at him angrily, as I was no longer truly pleased with the stories he was thinking about.

"Hmm..." "Ohh, is it a 'need not to know' thing? It's okay." Kitty quickly added, seeing Erebus's hesitation. "Not like that. I just don't want to worry you too much with no facts confirmed." Erebus sighed slightly with his hand on her head, "Tell me about Curtis?" "Well, he is nice. Good at bartending. Has been to a lot of places obviously. What's up?" Kitty shrugged. "Nothing, just curious." Erebus mimicked her shrugged and Kitty burst into laughter...

She leaned back slightly in her seat after saying that, her posture relaxed, but the weight of her words sat heavily in the room like a quiet threat. Lauren’s fists clenched on the table, her nails pressing into her palm as she struggled to maintain control. “You—” she started, but her words cut off as the sound of approaching footsteps drew everyone’s attention. They all turned toward the door. Curtis walked in. His appearance immediately caught attention, not because of authority this time, but because something about him looked… off. His shirt was slightly damp, clinging in places it shouldn’t, his tie loosely tugged in like he hadn’t even bothered adjusting it properly.

Relief loosened the knot in my chest, but unease still lingered, thick as fog. Did they really say Hemsworth or Hawthorne? Maybe I misheard. Hemsworth was rare — too rare. But the world was big, wasn't it? It had to be someone else. It had to. Kara elbowed me again, teasing this time. "Be careful. Mr. Curt has been staring at you all afternoon. That man's got ‘trouble' written all over him." I followed her gaze just in time to catch Kevin Curt looking away too quickly, the gold chain at his neck flashing in the light. My wolf growled low in my chest, a silent, instinctive warning.

Curtis says, as he looks over at me. I nod my head and get out of the far. Following close behind Curtis, I take a deep breath. Here we go. Let's see what they have to say.

A moment later, Curt walked in, dressed in a gray suit with no tie, his white shirt opened at the neck, showing a few strands of hair on his chest, accenting his muscles that lay beneath. “Curt,” I said as I walked around the desk and gave him a quick hug. “What a surprise.” A grin spread across his face, illuminating the dimple on his cheek. “Well, I was in the neighborhood.” I laughed. “What brings you here? To what do I owe the honor?”
