I muttered, eyes locked on the cases but seeing nothing. "Mm," Dante hummed, unconvinced. "Fine. My favorite lie." I shot him a look, but he just smirked. "You know," he added, lazily picking up a glittery pink case like it offended him, "if you are going for ugly, might as well go all in." I stared at it, neon pink with fake rhinestones spelling out the word Princess. It looked like something a teenager would impulse-buy at the mall. A soft, unwilling laugh broke out of me. "That's hideous."

I couldn't stop staring at the center of the field. At Danny. He was enormous. He'd always been big, but standing there now in the afternoon sun, he looked like something that was built in a lab specifically to cause damage. Wall of muscle. Scar along his left cheek. Same smirk he'd been wearing since we were kids. Less than ten feet away from me. My jaw locked.

The air tasted of salt, expensive espresso, and the lingering scent of wet acrylic. There, sitting at a long, hand-carved table of reclaimed oak, were the four ghosts who still ruled my world. Dante and Julian looked like they had finally negotiated a permanent ceasefire with time. Dante’s hair was a stark, regal white, but his shoulders remained as broad as a mountain range, his scarred hands steady as he poured a vintage Nero d'Avola for a man who had once been his greatest rival’s heir. Julian sat beside him, lean and predatory as ever, his eyes still flickering with the green digital rain of a thousand simultaneous equations. He was currently debating the "Mathematics of Aesthetic Value"

I’ll drop the magic because I don’t want him to go on a stampede. It’s a new form of glamour that I had been perfecting before I was taken. It makes them believe the glamour is real,” I explained before dropping it. Dante looked around wildly before his eyes met mine. I just gave him a bright smile that painted the picture of innocence.

Danny was bad news. Xyrus liked to know his enemies and Dan was most definitely his enemy. Lana was a beautiful woman and he tried to picture her with blonde hair. He didn’t mind the brunette, but it was obvious she was a natural blonde. He imagined she would have been stunning as a blonde, with glossy hair and golden highlights.

The face that greets me is not the one I was hoping to see. "Hello, sweetie pie," Danny says, smiling. But I can tell it's fake, even though the only light source is the moon. Danny is dark-skinned. His black hair is styled in a low cut, and he has a beard. The Dolce & Gabbana suit he's wearing does little to hide his muscles. I'd be lying if I said he wasn't ripped. To sum it up, Danny is a gorgeous man, but even with all his handsomeness, he is the worst romantic partner I have ever met-except Jacob if I'm including that horrible human being in the running, too.

“Red lipstick screams, look at me, I’m hot. Dark lipstick screams, look at me, and you might die. Hm. Decisions, decisions…” That’s when a knock came at my door. “Yeah, come in,” I called absently, still holding the lipsticks up to my face. The door opened, and in walked Danny. Jeans. Transparent white shirt that hugged his muscles too perfectly. That annoyingly casual swagger that said, I own this house, this room, and maybe your life too. My eyes swept him from head to toe, and I arched a brow. “Can I help you?” His lips curved into that mischievous little smile that always spelled trouble.

I’ve pushed my luck already and I don’t need a black eye to match hers. The cheers go up when we enter the tavern. A huge smile replaces the look of pain on Danny’s face and I take a second look. Maybe it’s the bandage and the bruise that bring Danny’s features to my attention. She has a really nice smile that lights up her eyes. No one should look that good with a bandage and bruise, but Danny carries it and it fits her tough-girl style.

Aesthetic's POV: “ I see… “ I murmured while looking at Spade's cold eyes then gulped many times to settle this uncomfortable feeling. “ I’m Aesthetic, but you can all call me Thea. “ I stated while wearing a fake smile on my face. How can I even smile if I know that I was sorrounded by these non-human creatures? They're all gorgeous but the fact that they have some hidden fangs inside their mouths make me wanna run away from here.
