I got to the throne room, and I sighed, looking at Asher. “We have been waiting for you,” he said, walking towards me. “Sorry, I ran into a minor mishap,” I said. “Are you okay?” he asked, looking over my body. I chuckled. “I am fine,” I said. “Okay, let’s go,‘’ he said, calling Snow. Well, Snow is Sky’s daughter, I know. Very ironic. That damn hellhound has been getting freaky, and we all had no idea it was Zira who found out and told us. Now we have plenty of hellhounds, as Sky and his wife, as we call her, won’t stop having more puppies. But it is not a bad thing; they are all cute. William Snow was upset. I tried to ignore the pain radiating through my chest at his words. “What do you mean who am I? I’m Snow, your gifted mate… You don’t remember me?” I asked. He shook his head. “I'm sorry, I don’t.” He said. “Come here, let me show you.” I said, and held my hand out to him. He didn't move though. “Why would I let a Hunter get that close to me?” He asked. “Damien, I would never hurt you!” I scoffed. I was getting frustrated now.

So, rather than continuing to scream and rant for him to put me down, I wrapped my arms around his strong neck before burying my face into it and unabashedly crying my eyes out. “I was raped by a man who said that he wanted to make me his mate,” I finally choked into his flesh as my body shuddered. “He was big and ugly and Snow killed him.” “I’m so sorry,” he said as he gently caressed my head and, then, lightly kissed it. “If it wasn’t for Snow…,” I whimpered. “He knew about Snow and was prepared for him,” he grumbled with disappointment. “Damn.” “I need to be checked for diseases,” I said with a touch of panic. “I need to be checked…”

Still, I crossed my arms, muttering, 'I’m happy for you, Ky, but next time, warn me before you turn the room into your personal honeymoon suite. Kyrex let out a deep rumble that sounded suspiciously like laughter. Snow tilted her head, her eyes glowing softly, before she buried her muzzle into his fur again. I sighed, rubbing the back of my neck. However, Suddenly, my heart started beating faster when something crossed my mind. “My son!” I muttered and hurried toward the door. But my steps froze when I heard a low growl from behind. I turned and saw my wolf… and Snow. Her bright blue eyes met mine. Too gentle, too warm, as if she were quietly poking my heart.

As rain started to fall, I belatedly remembered how the weather forecast said it would get colder later in the night, and maybe even start to snow. Once it starts snowing in Atlanta, it never seems to stop. I used to dread winter, but Lucas would always wrap me in his coat several sizes larger than I was, keeping a warm blanket available in his car just for me. Looking back now, those moments of so-called happiness were never meant to last. As the rain poured harder, strands of hair stuck damply to my forehead, and my steps wavered almost to the point of collapse. I shook my head and let out a bitter laugh. How did my life end up like this?
