Bailey was on her feet before I unlocked the screen. Motion detected: back yard. The feed opened to darkness and rain. The motion light clicked on, flooding the grass near the garage in harsh white. At first, nothing moved. Then something darted across the edge of the frame. Too low to be a person. Too fast for my exhausted brain to understand.
