Divided

Divided

It was as if I remembered a story I’d read long ago, tragic, but not personal. “I see,” Lucas responded as he offered me more tea. “Do you have any questions about being here, with me?” I thought for a moment, in truth, I was brimming with questions, but I knew many of them would come across as rude or disrespectful. Finally, I asked, “What does it mean to be your mate?” “Well,” Lucas began. He placed his glass on the table by the untouched food. His eyes darkened as he moved across the couch toward me. I allowed him to take my teacup as he closed the distance between us. “It means that you belong to me.”

The Divorce Game

The Divorce Game

That’s an ideal setting to start executing my plan. I spent the rest of the workday registering two new clients: Client One: A woman who caught her husband cheating in their matrimonial bed with a woman he had introduced as his "cousin" two months ago. Client Two: A man whose business flight was canceled, only for him to return home early and catch his wife with another man. Both wanted a divorce—the woman seeking full custody of her five-year-old daughter and the man determined to make sure his cheating wife left without a single asset.

The Charismatic Charlie Wade

The Charismatic Charlie Wade

This was what Josie really could not accept and felt most desperate about. However, when she heard from Christian that Merlin’s disappearance for so many days was due to some unexpected events, she burst into tears immediately and could not help but say to Christian, “Christian, to tell you some heartfelt words, if I didn’t still have some feelings for that b*stard, Merlin, I would have already filed for a divorce to the court on the grounds of de facto separation! After all, it’s easy to get divorced in the United States. We’ve been separated for years, so it’d be easy for us to get divorced in a

Regret After Wife Wants Divorce

Regret After Wife Wants Divorce

“I can’t take this anymore, Devan! I want a divorce!” The words shot out of Vania’s mouth the moment Devandra stepped into their apartment and placed his work folder on the table. He hadn’t even taken off his shoes when her voice struck like a bullet straight to his chest. Devandra frowned, staring at his wife in disbelief. “What did you just say?” “I said… let’s get a divorce. I’m done holding onto this marriage alone.” Silence. Only the ticking of the wall clock echoed between them, loud and haunting.

Divorced and Unbound

Divorced and Unbound

The first thing that greeted me after I woke up was a tight slap to the cheek. Mom then yelled at me in disappointment, "You idiot! How dare you ask for a divorce from the Stallones? Don't you know that our family business relies heavily on the partnership with them? It's your honor to be able to marry someone of status! "I swear to god, if you ever dare to bring up divorce again, I'll break both your legs so that you'll never be able to leave!"

Divorced by my Billionaire Ex, Now He Wants Me Back!

Divorced by my Billionaire Ex, Now He Wants Me Back!

6 Alex. The first thing everyone tells you about divorce is that it comes with relief, as if someone finally cuts you loose from a bad anchor. They don’t tell you about the empty echo of footsteps on hardwood floors or the way silence starts to hum around you like an old fridge with a broken motor. It wasn’t freedom. It was hollow.

Divorce: His Biggest Regret

Divorce: His Biggest Regret

I asked with a hint of urgency in my voice. “I’m just on my lunch break, you sound sad. Is everything okay?” She asked, her voice laced with concern. Celeste had this superpower of knowing when things were wrong with me even through the phone. I responded with a scoff. “No, everything isn’t okay.” My voice was slightly cracked. “Patrick wants a divorce.” My heart shattered into a million pieces as I voiced it out loud. “What?” She gasped in disbelief. “A divorce? Why?” I shrugged my shoulders. “He said I cheated on him.”

After the Divorce

After the Divorce

“Diane, I threw a birthday party for you twice. You didn’t show up.” “Because I was busy!” “Exactly! You’re always fucking busy.” The veins in my neck bulged. “Do you even remember you’re married? Because it seems like I’m the only one putting some effort into making this work. I love you, Diane. I love you so fucking much, but sometimes you make it hard to.” I took a step forward, my voice cracking. “We sleep in different rooms, baby. Have you ever wondered how that made me feel?” “How did it make you feel?” She repeated.

Beyond the Divorce

Beyond the Divorce

Atticus affirmed, “I’m here because I need your help with something.” “How can I assist you, Mr. Atticus? If I can, I’ll give it my all.” He looked as if he were grappling with his thoughts, trying to find the right words. Then he said two words that shocked me. “Divorce!” I was stunned for a good while. “Mr. Atticus, are you joking? I’m afraid I can’t help you with this. It’s not easy to dissolve one marriage. I can’t involve myself in just anything. Besides, you’re well aware of how your sister-in-law feels about me. I...”

It was a good book. A lot of the mixup/changes in names/locations was very annoying. Wish we would have gotten a little more out of the ending of one of the main villains. Chapters also needed to be longer; a lot of money spent on this book for 5-6 pages per chapter.

I loved this book. I liked all the characters and their interactions. Loved Atlas & Chloe together. Parts of the book are very suspenseful and made it hard to put down. Liked that she was a mom and a business owner. She was strong and intelligent. Hated that the book was over. Highly recommend.

Our Marriage, Divorce and Love

Our Marriage, Divorce and Love

So what option did they give you? "I have less than 6 hours to leave this Country and divorce my husband." Mr. Miner stands up and does that ridiculous chuckle or laugh of his. "Look! Let's make a deal. Call their bluff! Leave the Country for a few months! I get paid, and I'll pay you a quarter of a million dollars. I know you could use the money. I'll destroy the photos, and you and Mr. Morton can stay married and get back together later, richer and happier for it."
