"You made me carry all these books just for you to read two or three?" she exclaimed, feeling cheated.

I hadn't memorized where I was reading so if I wanted to continue reading it would take me some time to find where I was reading. “More interesting than me?” Alpha King curled his lips. While I took my phone and opened N*****x, I searched for the Bridgerton series and added it to my list. He came back after ten minutes with the first two books, Daphne and Anthony’s story. He settles back into bed with me and hands me The Duke and I. I start reading out loud and after the first two chapters, Blake tells me that we should switch to the audio book so it would be easier for us and I won’t have to stress myself reading out loud.

“It’s just hard. Audiobooks make it easier.” He nodded but didn’t say anything. He just stood there awkwardly shifting his weight from one foot to the other. His mouth opened and closed a couple of times before there finally were some words that left his lips. “I don’t think we have any audiobooks,” he confessed, nervously rubbing the back of his neck. “But if you make me a list of what you need, I can see if there are any online, and I’ll buy them for you.”
