How To Get A Job As An Audiobook Reader 소설 & 이야기

I click on it and accept the job. Not having a phone or internet I use the libraries wifi to recieve the call at the dummy number I gave to the job. What I don't expect is the voice on the other end. His voice is deep and dreamy. I can't get over how much I want to jump his voice. As soon as I get over the urge to jump his voice, I clear my throat and start to talk, answering him. "I would love to accept the job." I can hear a chuckle in the background, just like his but maybe it's just an echo. "You don't even know us. Would you like to at least interview first?"

I'm looking through job applications as I walk downstairs I would want my job to be like the one I had applied for at Berkeley Publishing. I want to use my degree and facilitate my love for reading. I want to work in publishing. Is that too much to ask? I scoff and swipe left on every single ad. Until one of them grabs my attention and I bury my nose into my phone as I quietly walk into the kitchen. A sound of soft humming pulls me out of my haze, and I look up from my phone. However, I'm unprepared for a sight that welcomes me.

she said. Audiobook narration and voice acting are very different. The former focuses on storytelling skills, while the latter brings their character to life through their voice. "That's fine. I appreciate a good story," Keegan concurred. 'I can't believe this man! I was going to impress him with my voice-acting skills, yet he's asking me to read him a book!' Stella pursed her lips and reluctantly agreed. "Alright. What do you want me to read?" Keegan opened a short story on his phone and handed it to her. Stella skimmed through a few pages, finding the content somewhat lackluster. The male lead appeared to be a scholar from the city, while the female lead was a widowed tavern owner.

she whines. I roll my eyes, taking a sip of my strawberry smoothie. “You literally have a live audiobook voice at home. Instead of you to make use of him, you are here stealing my book and reading yourself,” she says. I move my eyes from the book to her. “Of course, I’d tell my boss, who is also three years older than me, to sit and read me a book because he has a great audiobook voice, and he’d just listen to me,” I say sarcastically.

“If I could find a job that involved reading romance books we would be good to go. I just don’t like interacting with people too much to be honest with you. People make me nervous.” “You know I could get you a job doing that if you would be interested. I actually own a company that publishes books. We haven’t taken on romance books just yet, but if we had someone who would enjoy reading a whole lot of them everyday to see if they are worth publishing or not, we could add that on.” “What? You are joking right?”

I wish I had enough money for a phone and cordless headphones because it would be nice to fill some of this time with audio books. Maddie and I visit the public library every single Saturday morning. We check out the maximum number of books that we’re allowed, and we finish most of them before the next visit. We are both speed readers and enjoy learning as much as we can on almost any subject. But I can’t read on the job, so despite the library having free books on audio, most of my day is spent in silence.

I blinked, trying to center my attention and consciousness to the goal I have in mind— to get a job! "Uh— no, I was actually here to ask if the place is hiring for any staff." The woman tilted her head a little and gave me an overall look. To say that it was making me nervous was an understatement, so I looked around and started fidgeting with my fingers. "Are you someone who likes reading?" She asked, eyeing my fidgeting hands and tapping feet. "Oh! Yes, absolutely. I am very fond of books and reading, it's actually my fav–," I excitedly answered, looking back at her, however, what I saw was not what I was expecting to see.

She’d love to go back to it, but figured he would find her there. “First thing’s first,” Audrey said to herself. “I need a job.” She called the one person she knew could help her with that. “Audrey! It’s great to hear from you!” “Hi, Damian. How are you?” “Doing great. You wouldn’t be calling to finally take me up on my offer, would you?” “I am, actually.” “That’s wonderful! When can you start?”

“First, I want to introduce myself. I am Noah Hayes. Owner of this book shop. I am looking for one bookstore clerk who will help me run the bookshop. May I know if you have any experience related to this job?” “To be honest, I have no bookstore clerk experience or any other related experience. This will be the first time for me. But I have loved reading books ever since I was a kid.” Noah nodded and wrote on his notes. Annika didn’t want to lie. She wanted to be her true self. If she gets hired, good. If she doesn’t get hired, at least she tried. “I see. Do you know what a bookstore clerk does?” she thought for a minute before she responded.

A bookstore in the Chiado district, the one that's been stocking my books since the first one came out. "A reading," I say to Celeste. "In front of people." "That's what readings are." "What if I freeze?" "Then you freeze. And then you keep going." "That's not an answer." "It's the only one I have." --- I have been preparing for weeks. Not the way I used to prepare for cons — memorizing lies, rehearsing performances. I just... practice. Reading aloud to Celeste, to the dogs, to the empty garden. The words are mine. The voice is mine. There's nothing to pretend.
