I wanted to snake my fingers through his onyx hair and drag him closer, until his snarls filled my mouth and claimed it for his own.
“I didn’t chain you to your bed to kiss you, Dain. I chained you to your bed to get answers. As for how I did it. Magic, obviously.” Leaning towards him, refusing to balk when his eyes flickered to my lips, I smirked. The false bravado did nothing to ease my thundering heart. “You’re the one that kissed me. Do you dream of me often? Because you whispered my name in your sleep.”
“If I manage sleep, you are the only thing I dream about.” I swore my heart stopped at that comment, at the utter sincerity in his words that affected me far, far worse than his touch.
