Sure enough, the look in his eyes flashed confusion. "A nightmare? You haven't had one of those in years." I chewed on my lower lip causing the worry to grow evident on his features even more. I exhaled heavily as I knew he was waiting for clarification. "Not necessarily a nightmare. It was a dream where you guys were there to save me. I always dreaded waking up afterwards though. Because everytime I woke up, I realized that it was just a dream..." I felt the stinging sensation in my eyes and quickly took another deep breath.

“I just don’t know how it’s possible.” My dreams started around a year ago. At first, they were random and happened once in a while. I tried stopping them but I couldn’t. About three or so months ago, they became constant. They happened almost every single day. Sometimes I couldn’t clearly tell what was happening, but one thing, or, should I say, one person, remained clear. A girl with long black hair. Sadie. Before, the dreams were just normal. Her with friends, laughing, and being silly. That kind of thing. But those from a few months ago were darker. Sometimes I wake up with her chilling screams still ringing in my fucking ears.

I really hate Dream-Me. Suddenly, Nick/David and Dream-Me are both naked—even though moments before we had definitely been clothed. Despite myself, Subconscious-Me can’t help but note how much detail the dream has—Nick/David looks exactly as I remember him, down to the last gorgeous freckle.
