Takuto stared at the nape of Rishi’s neck—there had been a red mole there in Risa’s past life—but it was hidden under the collar. “Have you… been here before?” Takuto asked stiffly. “First time,” Rishi replied, smiling. “But I had a strange dream last night. I dreamed I jumped off a cliff.” Takuto’s breath stopped. “And then?” he asked. “Then I turned into a bird,” Rishi pulled open the curtains. The sunset lit up his profile. “And flew across the sea.” Exactly like the legend. Takuto suddenly ran to the bathroom and retched into the toilet.

It was her favorite place to be in her dreams. She sat cross-legged, leaning her back to the tree and taking in her surroundings. After some time, she closed her eyes, and let her mind wander. She imagined she was a bird, flying high above her dreamscape. Wings spread in the light breeze, she scanned the surroundings. As she flew, she spotted a small reddish fox moving carefree through the tall grass. A grey rabbit hopped in between tufts of flowers, chewing a few pieces of greenery it found delicious. The vision would have me waking up in a pool of sweat, my hands would hurt as if they had been burned. I couldn’t make sense of it, until the other night, when I dreamt of the stone egg, the child, and the man who was shrouded in wings of orange and gold flames. The boy was from the egg, I had the same sense of godly power when he appeared in my dream as I did the day I touched the egg. Like he was calling to me.

Valentina’s P.O.V The loud chirping of birds and the flapping of their wings woke me up from the uncomfortable slumber that had befallen me, it seemed like I woke up from a long dream and there were dried tears at the end of my eyes. My eyes shot in the direction of the tree that was just outside and I could see a pair of turtle doves on the branch.

We were already out of the market and about to go home. "I wish you were just insulting Frida. I might be even happier." He left my shoulder and flew around me as he spoke, "That ugly Frida! That ugly Frida!" he said with pride. I laughed softly. This bird really. GASPING FOR air, I woke up from a bad dream. These scary creatures chased me into eternal darkness and they wanted to kill me. I touched my chest to relieve its rapid throbbing. I gasped for breath because I seemed to feel tired of running in that dream.

In my dream the sky is blue, the birds sing and there is a bee on a clover nearby. The streams run clear and there are fishes in the river. There are beautiful blue butterflies everywhere, fluttering their little wings peacefully. I was there sitting on the soft dewy grass and in front of me two sandwiches, a pie, and a glass tea kettle full of tea was placed on a blanket. 'Am I dead?' I thought to myself. This place looked too good to be true.

Whenever I had nightmares it wasn't the sun that made me sigh in relief it was the bird's chirp. Someday I wish to be like a bird and fly as high as possible and I'll able to spread my wings and be me without fear. I would sing happily every morning and dance around my sitting room. So I made myself a promise, someday I'll show the world a better part of myself, maybe I'll be able to put a smile on the face of the woman who gave me a little bit of light even though it was for a short while.

In one dream, Star stood on a mountaintop, surrounded by a breathtaking landscape. The wind whispered through the trees, carrying with it a sense of magic and wonder. As she raised her hands, a vibrant glow emanated from her fingertips, illuminating the night sky. Stars danced and swirled around her, responding to her every command. In another dream, Star found herself in a vast, ancient library, its shelves stretching endlessly into the distance.

She made an odd face at the end of her statement, as if something had just come to mind. “What is it?” I asked, curiosity getting the better of me. “Oh, nothing,” she said with a shrug. “I just had a weird dream.” “What kind of weird dream?” She shook her head, like she was trying to recall. “I’m not completely sure. I think… I had a dream where I was flying.” Her forehead crinkled, and I could tell she was trying to piece it all together. I immediately thought of the bird. I wondered if she would even tell me if Ben and I were in her dream. “Where were you flying at?” I asked, tentatively.

I took small steps as I brushed my shoulders. "Does anyone hear me?" I called once more, but still, no one replied. I was like walking in an endless road with nothing to see, but just blackness. "What am I doing here?" I mumbled to myself, thinking why I was dreaming this kind of place. Silence and darkness almost engulfed me, but I halted the moment I noticed a moving thing just a few centimeters away. Trying to see it clearly by taking few more steps ahead, I confirmed to myself that it was just a bird.
