Like a movie, her mind starts to take form and create an image of her dreams. She was in a forest. Her dreams always started in a forest. She would wear a velvety red nightdress. It was soft to the touch and felt very expensive on her skin as it stands out against her milky white skin. Her wavy black locks fall freely down her body, right above her ass and she was barefooted. There was a clear pathway for her to walk in the forest and she never felt any discomfort or pain as she walks forward. Everything around her was lush and green and lively. There was no life to be seen living in the forest but she didn’t feel like she was alone.

Although Crystal was curled up in Nathan’s arms, she slept restlessly. This was due to a recurring, ongoing dream that she was having, where she was being chased. She couldn’t see who was behind her when she looked behind her, but she could hear their footsteps. It was dark in her dream, and she was barefoot. There were thorns and shards of broken glass on the floor, but she knew that she couldn’t let her pain impede her flight. She was panting and sweating, and her feet were cut and scraped, but she kept running. It was so bad that she was exhausted when she woke up, and her limbs were sore.

Amethyst instructs excitedly. I take a step and my foot wobbles dangerously as the surface my heel has to land on is severely reduced. Amethyst just smiles at me. “Try not to think of the shoes. Imagine you are simply walking barefoot.” I look at her incredulously. She titters at me.

If only I knew the contents of her dreams, perhaps then I could aid her.

“It’s a beautiful day outside!” “Too late,” Julia moaned. “The beast is awake.” “I’m ordering room service,” I said, throwing off the blanket. “I need coffee and something sweet.” “Good. Order me a bagel and bacon,” she mumbled, rolling over and pulling the blanket over her head. I padded out of the room in my bare feet, appreciating the plush carpet under my toes. We’d walked for hours last night, and I hadn’t worn the most sensible shoes. My feet were killing me. I was looking forward to bare feet and sandals for the rest of our vacation.

I continued talking as we kept on walking. I did not know that I had run so far now that the distance was registering because my feet were sore from walking and a few injuries from walking barefoot and stepping on a few sharp things on the forest floor. I was so ready to have a warm bath and let my wounds heal but seemed like I was getting none of that. "It doesn't matter if you don't get the food but it would be amazing if you gave me a strong drink," I added.

I could hear his heavy footsteps all the way down the stairs and laughed to myself about all of the times he said that I sounded like a herd of elephants walking around upstairs. I sat there on my bed, rubbing my eyes, trying to get the sleep from them. I pushed myself to hoist my still tired legs off over the side and found my house shoes that I always left on the floor beside the bed. I looked over and spotted my tank top and sweat pants at the foot of the bed and stood up, pulled my pants on and scooted my feet into my awaiting house shoes. I grabbed my top and began walking around the end of the bed toward the bathroom. I pulled my tank top over my head and caught a glimpse of myself in

His face was void as he started to walk to me. Without a single thought, I dashed to the forest but I can hear footsteps following close. I applied more pressure to my aching legs but I slipped fell off a cliff into a swarm of mud before everything around me turned black. My eyes snapped open and groaned rubbing my aching head. It’s been so long since I had that dream. I got out of my ‘not so comfortable’ bed, wore my almost worn shoes, and got out of my underground house to get some fresh air.
