The room was dim, with a single candle illuminating the best it could, and I saw something poking out from the layers of blue and white. I strode up to it cautiously and touched it, only for it to crinkle against my fingers and fall to the floor. He watched her take the medicine and helped her back to bed after washing her in the shower.

I couldn't see their faces but I remember their hands. I knew I was drugged when I woke up because I felt sick just like every other time I took a potent medicine. I felt the nausea overtaking me from the stench of rot and something foul in the air. The ground was dirty and damp, though you could hardly see it through all the bodies.
