“Something she was reborn to stop,” he says. “Something the Dawn mother always stands against.”
My stomach drops.
Parker’s jaw tightens. “What kind of something?”
Ronnie swallows. “It says… in every cycle, the darkness grows first.”
A chill brushes down my spine, and the room seems to dim.
Through the window, I see some of the Twiceborn lift their heads in perfect unison, sensing the shift, and deep in my chest, something old and bright and terrifying unfurls like a sunrise preparing to fight the night.
