“Yeah, I did.” I didn’t even pay him and my nakedness any more attention as I plastered myself to the window at my side, watching with giddiness as all the small boutiques and designer emporiums passed by… But, most of all my gaze remained frozen on the upper part of Eiffel Tower that came into view after ever building we drove by. “Do you like your surprise, lioness?” He asked, softly. He looked at me with a look that reminded me that I was the cause of what we were going through. He increased his pacing; I guess the walking did not affect him. I stood and followed him, ignoring the numbness in my legs. I followed him till we got to the first level of the Eiffel Tower. I wanted to faint from exhaustion when we got to the place. It has glass floors and is so unreal. I looked around to find beautiful apartments, a bar, a restaurant, and people kissing. Then I saw a man being proposed to by a woman, and everyone was clapping.

“You don’t understand. This is Paris. I have to capture everything.” “You’re worse than a tourist.” Claire would have been so patient if she were with me. She’d not complain. “I am a tourist,” I shot back, laughing. “And you’re just lucky you married one who appreciates beauty.” He muttered something under his breath, but I caught the faint curve of his lips as he shoved his hands deeper into his pockets. Then, without warning, it appeared. The Eiffel Tower rose into the twilight, dazzling and breathtaking. My steps faltered, and I froze right there on the street.

Now that I’m a vampire, teleportation only causes a few seconds of temporary blindness, as opposed to a few minutes when I’d been human.
