Liam placed his hand on Hayley’s shoulder again, steering her towards a pitch black coloured Jeep. She waved off, me immediately starting to miss her. We haven’t been apart since well... that weekend when Hayley became pregnant. And that was six months ago and before that we weren’t that far apart from each other either. We were dependent on one another and having one of us just up and gone, didn’t sit right.

The point of no return. "Mr. Hayes!" a reporter shouted, thrusting a microphone forward. "So is this it? The long awaited wedding? There are rumors of you guys not being in love anymore!” Elijah didn't flinch. He looked directly into the lens of the lead camera, a small, triumphant smirk playing on his lips—a look meant only for Kian, who was standing paralyzed just a few feet behind us. "Eliora is coming home with me," Elijah announced, his voice clear and carrying across the pavement. "We've spent enough time apart. We'll be announcing our wedding date soon."

I asked him as he got to his feet. "There's been another attack. On my uncle's pack" He answered rubbing his hand on his face. "Oh my," I said placing my hand over my mouth. "I have to go tame care of somethings. Goodnight Celeste." Elijah said, bending a little to place a kiss on my cheek. "Goodnight" I whispered back. I change into a fresh pair of pajamas and lay on my bed, smiling as I remember the passionate kiss the king and I shared. ****

"What I wear is none of your business." Hayden thought bitterly, What is this? My own turf, and I'm being bullied by two outsiders! "You'd be better off wearing nothing—though I doubt Elijah would agree," he retorted with a huff. Elijah gave him a light nudge with his foot and said smugly, "Watch your mouth. She's MY WIFE." Hayden laughed dryly. "Not married yet, are you? Nicole still counts as one of your fiancées, doesn't she?"

Elijah took a jab on them but they both dodged it. "What about Cindy Caddel? She's about your age," Hade took another guess. "Dude, I have never even talked to her," Elijah said. "Right," Hade nodded. "Who could it be? You haven't really gone out to meet other people since you entered the Harvest except for the Harvest balls and Father's gatherings. We've never been with other families that much," Olly said. "Well, except for the Hales," Hade added. Elijah avoided his eyes and Olly caught on to that. His lips slowly turned into a naughty smirk. "Well, well, what do we have here? Another loverboy who's in love with a Hale."

Did Elijah hear us talking? Finally, Kayla returned. “Elijah's gone,” she said. “He didn't seem to hear me talking. He's meeting with Serena again, who's happy to kiss his ass.” A bitter laugh escaped me. Then Kayla leaned forward and spoke, her voice low and confiding.

Slowly, Elijah walked in with two maids who were pushing a large tolley with covered plates. "Hailey's body?"

Hana’s arm held Elijah’s hand as they walked around, greeting every one of the guests. Her chin hurt from smiling too much. Elijah introduced her to all of them — his business partners, A-list celebrities, his friends, and his parents’ acquaintances. Some had been warm. Others looked at her like she was something that didn’t quite belong on Elijah’s arm. “This is Mr. and Mrs. Lloyds, the owners of Lloyds Pharma,” Elijah said, gesturing to the couple. “And this is my fiancée, Hana Verlice.”

Really likes someone and Hailey has sworn off men. Bryan leans over and shouts in Elliot’s ear. Roy cannot hear what he says. Elliot is tall with wide shoulders, curly blonde hair, and light wickedly gleaming eyes. Was he a Lycan too? Roy can’t tell the color of the eyes under the pulsating heat of the flashing lights. A wide grin pulls at Elliot’s cheek and he pulls Hailey into his arms, where she is more than happy to be. It was as if a spell was woven over Hailey as she doesn’t even take notice of either Roy or Bryan. She only nods at whatever Elliot says and grins at Roy.
