I dropped the pillow case, a small smile tugging at the corner of my lips as I looked at the pile of books beside the bed. Clearly, she had just brought them out of wherever they had been before. I picked up the book on top and glanced at it before dropping. Soon, I found myself going through the pile of books with no particular interest until I got to the last book. It was a small notebook and a winky emoji had been badly drawn on it. Definitely Caramia's. I picked the notebook up and flipped it open. The moment I did so, the smile on my face faded into something else.

There is nothing to worry about.” Like a spell, Amber suddenly felt relaxed and she walked to one of the shelves before pulling out a book. A frown came to form on her face and she pulled out few other books before placing them back in its place. Turning her body to look at the woman, she said to her, “Your library is for cookbooks, flower characteristics and Animal instincts?” “Mm, what were you expecting?” the woman answered, not looking at her and Amber scoffed. “I thought you might have some fictional books with some genres like Teen, Young Adult, Billionaire and Romance but I can’t find any of that right

“Did he hurt you?” I hated that smooth, almost kind voice, because it was a lie. There was nothing kind about the man staring at me with black eyes. Madness shone out of them. It was like looking into the eyes of a shark. They were empty of anything remotely human. I shook my head, not daring myself to speak.

(inserted heart emojis) I replied at them… @sassytamara: Hssh, quiet, atty. @ethanm! @ethanm: I guessed I got it right! Wahaha! @sassytamara: @chantalmoore, I love you, too! :) Chantal reacted heart to my reply. @sassytamara: Hey @yasminemonteverde, c’mon! Stop your bookish-like hopeless romantic whatsoever! We’re no longer sixteen! (inserted laughing emojis)

But what he seemed most proud of, was a large book. ​ “I had Jason send me your measurements, so everything should fit. This here,” he motioned towards the book. “…is a book about Italian architecture. It’s filled with blueprints and plans of all of the famous landmarks and buildings. I figured you would like it.” ​ He was right. Emma loved it. She wanted to snatch it from him and spend the entire day perusing it. ​ “Everything is great, thanks,” was all she said.

Emma said, walking deep into the living room. "Thanks." She walked to a set of shelves on the far side of the room, running her fingers over the spines of his books. A lot of them were classics, novels by Dickens, Voltaire, Dumas, Melville, and Hemingway. She smiled when her fingers ran over the spine of not one, but three copies of Mitchell's Gone with the Wind. There were modern novels, too, including Stephen King and Sidney Sheldon, but they didn't look as well read as some of the others.

****** Dhruv ****** While I was busy in the discussion with my best friends my phone beeped with a text. It was Saavi's text. She had recently learned about emojis and she sends it to me always whenever she gets free time in between her work. She has become so obsessed with these emojis that she had painted almost each one of them. She had sent me a confused emoji. I asked her what happened and she replied that she is not able to understand some points in the contract and she didn't type it, actually, she used emojis and I am glad that I know that she uses which emoji for which word.

He pulled out a small book, the size of a small purse that modern girls used to parade the streets with. "Look at this book," Emmanuel said. Clement stared at the book. It looked familiar to him. "What is special about the book that you are holding in your hands?" He asked. "It is an inspirational book that has helped me a lot when I feel down. I feel it could also help you since you are feeling down and lost." Clement hissed. "If you had done your job well and told me all the answers to the questions like we agreed, I won't be feeling bad. Instead, you decided to play selfish, consider yourself first and ignore the fact that we had an agreement."

I said, though I was already smiling. As he took his seat, a group of students started whispering again, snapping pictures. I ignored them this time. My cheeks hurt from trying not to grin. Jules leaned in, whispering, “You’re so whipped.” I nudged him with my elbow, muttering, “Shut up.” But even as I said it, I couldn’t stop looking at the book bouquet. The covers peeked out *Birthday Girl*, *Twisted Lies*, *Wait for It*, *November 9.* My favorites.
