RED LABEL
To anyone watching, it looked like an absent-minded adjustment, nothing more than a man scratching an itch or fixing an earbud that had shifted out of place.
His fingers pressed the outer lobe partially covering the ear canal.
Once. Twice.
Something deep inside his ear came alive.
There was no visible light. No obvious mechanical movement. Only a barely perceptible change in the pressure against his ear as the tiny device activated.
A calm female voice sounded directly inside his head.
"Welcome back, Commander Red Star. How may I be of help?"
Daniel continued walking. "Hello, EVE-Tel. Just lose the Commander Red Star protocol and simply call me Nobody."
