I chuckled wryly and pulled out the document legalizing my ownership from my handbag and held it up for her to see. "This document is proof of my ownership over this property," I announced. The room instantly fell silent as Cynthia's eyes bulged in utter shock and disbelief. Her friends clamped their mouths shut, looking away in embarrassment. A self-satisfied smile ghosted over my lips as I relished the look of embarrassment and defeat on Cynthia's face.
