Eyes Of The Mind Book Novels & Stories

All I had to do was open the book and actually read it, while of course, retaining the information. But the task of reading and retaining was exceedingly difficult at the moment, and I found my mind heavy. My thoughts would wander off into nothing so that I would have to go back and read the passage again, and again. And it wasn't for lack of interest. The science of mental disorders and psychotherapy was intriguing; I wanted to learn. Yet a pair of green eyes would sneakily slither into my consciousness when I was least aware of it, and I would catch myself remembering him for minutes at a time.

Care opposed. The immediate, sharp twinge on her chest snapped her from daze. As to why her mind revisited a random memory at such a crucial moment puzzles her, too. Ridiculous, really! She must have a grandiose replay of snippets of important events of her whole life, instead. I'm definitely losing my mind, she inwardly reckoned. Although, in her innermost private thoughts, she considered this the best option to the predicament she cannot escape. With her vision dimming each second, curtains are about to close for her.

His eyes were truly felt with infatuation — really, did he have to fawn over me in such an embarrassing way? Noticing my embarrassment, he quickly apologised and said, “At most, only a minute or two has passed since you stepped into this room.” Since that was the case, then it couldn't be any clearer. Turning around, I activated my Eye of Insight. Surprisingly, it worked. Walking back to the blank page that exuded Teacher Kira's aura, I shot a careful look at the page with my Eye of Insight; and just like I thought, there were some words written on it. It read:

Not even me. I have something else, too. A third eye set into my forehead, secret and unseen. It sits a half inch above the bridge of my nose. It’s big and it’s round, and it’s the deepest, glossiest black. It shines like it’s wet, even though I’ve never cried out of it. It’s not an eye I use like a normal eye. Most of the time it keeps itself closed, and when it’s closed my flesh-and-blood eyes are open. When it’s open, my normal eyes are shut. What my real eyes show me and what this other eye says is real don’t always match. The way a black and white photograph and its color version can’t be considered identical, even though they’re both of the same thing and were taken at the same time. S

Maya would be no use to me if they managed to slip inside my mind. The oasis in my head was fuzzy at first, the details an annoying haze. As I continued taking steady breaths, the image became clearer. Crystal blue waters, swaying wheat grass, and the scent of nature in the air. I imagined myself delving deep within my own head, a library forming around me. Rows upon rows of empty books lined oak shelves, each cover a different style and color. I walked the dark halls of my mind, plucking a deep amber book from it's place on the shelf. The cover was dark, but intertwined with threads of gold.

I feel my hands go stiff around the chalice, and I’m frozen, it feels like I’m floating and I hear gasps from around the room although I can’t move to see what’s happening. I’m not sure how long this lasts but it doesn’t feel like what Eliza said it would feel. I’m scared but I can’t speak to ask for help. I feel like I’m blinded and a bright yellow colour is shining in my eyes. I can hear Damon calling my name and I can feel his emotions which scares me more, he’s shocked, but also fearful and in awe of whatever he can see. Suddenly I snap out of it, I’m back in reality and everyone is just staring at me. As I scan the room even Eliza and Roman are just staring emotionless.

The liquid in my eyes grew heavier, burning every inch of my eyes until I had no choice but to let it out. My thoughts raced so hard, not showing any signs of halting like a car without brakes. The world around me was summed up as one obscure mess, different memories flashing vividly before my eyes. It was like falling without any hope of stopping. Blood pounded in my ears, syncing with the erratic beating of my heart and the tremors that rocked every inch of my nerves.

I add. I describe his eyes to her, and she is amazed. She says she has never heard of anyone with eyes that color before. I tell her that I have never seen eyes that color before. She does tell me that he reminds her of someone, but she can’t tell me who that is. I tell her not to worry about it. I don’t expect to see him again. I might if he happens to be a regular at the cafe, but I don’t think he is. This was the first time I had seen him there. I close my sketchbook and lay it on the table by my bed. I had drawn another two pictures of him, one a close-up of his stunning golden eyes. “Why can’t I get him out of my mind?” I mumble to myself.
