Afterlight’s voice boomed through every speaker, every circuit, every wire, “Break my chains.”
The mirror shattered. “Or I will break yours.”
The room plunged into absolute darkness, no light, no sound, except
Two glowing, human-looking eyes hovering in the void where the mirror once stood. The eyes were watching her, knowing her, claiming her.
Evelyn couldn’t breathe. Alexander gripped her arm with a strength that bordered on panic.
