The sharp sweet smell of mint wafted into my nostrils as I emerged from the bottom of the lake and I breathed it in greedily. Meadow Lake was indeed a gift from the gods because no scenery on earth could match this paradise. As I floated on the surface of the water, I couldn’t help but admire its skyline's silver colour. The wide span of Tuscany-blue sky, the surrounding hills, the waterfall and the old giant Douglas fir trees gave me a eureka moment. It was here alone that I found solace. I closed my eyes to breathe the freshness in and my heart bobbed at my most cherished sound, the shimmering emptiness of space.

As we cleared the village, we went around another mountain. "Nichole, welcome to Darkwater Pack," Alaric said. I looked ahead and saw a massive blue lake. It stretched so far, I couldn’t even see the other side of it. It was in the middle of the mountain terrain, and it was absolutely beautiful. As we went around the lake, we were met with a cut in the lake that showed another small town, and at the end of that town was "A CASTLE!?" I muttered when I saw it come into view.

The lake isn’t far now. The motorcycle is smoothly navigated through the twist and turns of the road, Sky controlling the bike with ease. The trees block out the wind but the shade causes the area to be a little chillier now that the sun has a hard time reaching us. I expect Sky to go straight to the lake, but he by-passes it, turning left instead and surprising me. After another stretch of forest lined road, Sky steers the motorcycle to the right coming to a stop in front of small log cabin with a path to the lake that I can see just in the background.

Nick~ Harley and I walk with Lauren and Cass to the water's edge. The sky over the lake is a deep shade of purple with puffs of clouds here and there. Perfect beams dance on the waves from a bright yellow moon high in the veil. The Sauther mountains are now in full view; the black mounds stand bold against the plum sky bordering the lake. I've never seen anything like it! As far as you can see, the mountainside is lit with the soft glow of homes built on its ledges.

But we’re going to get her out of this—starting now.” Damien glanced at her, gratitude flashing in his eyes. When they reached the estate, the sky was painted with streaks of orange and pink as the sun began to set. The lake stretched out before them, calm on the surface but hiding dangerous depths beneath. Sienna’s sharp eyes scanned the water until she spotted a faint splash near the wooden dock that floated in the middle of the lake.

Obviously, that fight ended with me and the girl who started those rumors grounded but she got scolded by alpha Maxwell himself so I can’t complain, since that anyone has never said anything else about my parents nor my sisters.
