Inside it was a chunk of rotting meat that was soaked through with an extract that would lure zombies. Smiling softly, I said, "That's why you ran into zombies on the safest route." Clara began to tremble violently. Her mouth moved as she tried to say something. But in the next second, the zombies lunged at her again. They had their fill, so they took their time to savor her bit by bit.

I'd never love a woman with no brains like you! He pulled up the ladder entirely and disappeared into the vent. The zombies were getting closer now. I could hear their roars even from where I stood. I shot down a couple that got too close. Through the corner of my eye, I saw Yvonne stood petrified, and she was shaking all over. A zombie lunged at her. I thought it would tear her apart, but Yvonne rolled out of the way, then she snapped up a metal pipe and smashed it down on the zombie.

Their eyes were empty, unfocused, and they were both wearing a strange, hollow smile. The rescue team leader stepped forward. "Mr. Sands? Mrs. Sands?" Dad suddenly clutched the tin of spam against his chest and shrank backward, his eyes wide. "Shh. Be quiet," he whispered, his voice shaking. "There are zombies out there. Going outside means death. "This is the last of our food. We have to ration it. We have to make it last." Mom nodded along beside him, completely serious. "One less mouth to feed. You'll get to live a few more days."

The woman laughed blandly, as she breathed heavily when her body finally out of the deserted mall. Now the question of where the zombies go is finally got answered. Maybe because they have not been getting enough blood lately, their bodies are starting to change, and they are starting to be afraid of light now. They hide in dark places to find their prey during the day. Maya had indeed seen the same incident in the lab where they had been researching zombies all along. But until now, there has been no definite theory that explains why the zombies they have locked up in the lab can suddenly burn as if a high-temperature light has burned them down. If Felix did have memories of such a horrific act, it would certainly explain his own extreme fear of being eaten.
