Fantasy Book Without Romance Novels & Stories

Some sobbed, releasing the most gut-wrenching cries as they flew around me in a tornado of pages and human leather. As the dozens of books circled me, their cries and screams and laughter filling the frigid air, I skimmed every page I could manage, searching desperately for anything to do with portals to other realms. An hour ticked by, followed by a second, and I found nothing. Disappointment churned in veins as I set each book back on their shelf. The silence was so deafening I wanted to claw at my ears. There was one book I hadn’t checked. One that resisted my magic.

I settle in next to her, the thrifted book already open in my lap. As Valerie’s tech begins her manicure, I dive into the pages. My fingers flick through chapter after chapter, heart speeding up every time the word Lycanthrope appears. But it’s all the same vague mythology I’ve seen before, dark forests, full moons, primitive tribes. No mentions of crimson eyes. No whispers of mind control. No mention of the war or their connection to the werewolves. Just fables. Just fragments. Frustration bubbles in my chest like a kettle about to boil. I shut the book and rest my hands on top of it as Valerie turns to glance at me.

It not like it’s normal see someone on fire was normal but he said nothing. I will think about that later not now. I do not go to my dorm. I go straight to the library. The forbidden section smells old and heavy, like dust and secrets layered on top of each other. I search shelf after shelf, pulling out books on elemental magic, ancient bloodlines, cursed abilities, fire wielders, forbidden hybrids. Nothing matches. Nothing talks about blue fire. Frustration claws at my chest until my fingers brush against a thick, worn book shoved far back on a lower shelf.

From my emotions and feelings towards her, I was still like a reader reading the book with the b*tch butting into the story. I walk my way where I could find total silence, the library. There were no students around and only the librarian is there. I step inside and I was overwhelmed with silence, this is what I want, peace. I move my feet slowly, looking at the book, trying to grab a masterpiece. There were thick and thin books. I look at the story titles one-by-one. I went to the fantasy section. The Magic Of The Bottle The Lost Genie The Werewolves Mate The Bloody Moon

At least there, I can have peace. When I arrived at the garden, I felt the peace hugging me. 'Finally.' Away from those stabbing gazes, away from that annoying expression of Rosine, away from that indifferent male lead. Amongst the books I brought with me, there's one with an inconspicuous book with a simple red cover. "From One Space to Another" is the title of the book. It is a romance story about a girl who can teleport from one place to another and a boy who was from another parallel universe.

He headed into the kitchen, shaking his head at me with a grin. I smiled at him and relaxed, grabbing a book off one of the end tables. I read the back cover, pretty sure it was once of Tristan’s and not one of mine as I didn’t recognize it. The description read like a run of the mill fantasy. Group of experienced adventurers traveling the lands in an attempt to stop some long trapped evil that was threatening to re-emerge. I opened it, reading it without paying too much attention so I didn’t get sucked in. I had lost myself countless tales over the years, using them as an escape in my younger years, avoiding the realities that were starting to take hold in my world.

Foremost, and by far the most important, I would like to state that this book does not really focus on romance. It just doesn't, in my opinion, fit in that criteria. Perhaps in a sub-genre. But not in a category, or a genre itself.
