Threads of Fate The darkness was soft, like velvet drawn over her eyes. Evandra floated within it, untethered, the sounds of snarls and steel and blood-soaked stone fading until they were nothing. And then, light. Silvery, gentle, radiant. The kind of light that was not blinding, but embracing. It curled around her like a mother’s arms. She knew before she even lifted her gaze who stood there. The Moon Goddess. Her hair shimmered like liquid silver, her eyes endless pools of starlight. Sadness clung to her like a veil, her expression weary with grief.

“What do you mean?” “He’s in a coma,” Daniel said while he rubbed his temple. “The stab wounds were deep, and he lost a lot of blood. One of the blades punctured near his ribs and affected some of his organs. If your father wasn’t a Lycan, he would have died instantly.” I clenched my fists hard. “So you’re saying he still has a chance?” Daniel hesitated. “I can’t promise anything, my lord. His body is fighting, but his chances of survival are very low. Only the Moon Goddess can decide his fate now.”
