The Vampire King's Feeder
Alma’s voice echoes upstairs, calling out my name, but I’m watching… color creep into Faye’s features again.
Alma rushes upstairs and slides to a halt in the doorway, panting, her face washed in pink from the chill outside. “How is she? Any change? Lowe found feverfew and fairywand at the market a few villages over.” She holds up two bags of dried herbs. “I was thinking about making a compound tonight–something warming. I have some of Lowe’s blood, too. It’s fresh. We can make a warming compound tonight–”
Faye gasps, her body stretching and arching off the bed. Alma screeches before clapping her hand over her mouth, her eyes wide in shock.
