“You should stop by Nina's house, right? True, but isn't it too early?” I asked Mom. Mom frowned in confusion. “It's almost two o'clock, Katie. Do you want to go there when the sun goes down?” I glanced at the watch on Terrence's wrist. The day is already 2 o'clock in the afternoon. I glanced back at my phone and told Britney and Nina that I was going to Nina's house in a while. I packed some of my books and mobile phone into a tote bag.

I don't wait for my mother to come back anymore because it's too late now. I take a seat on the brown couch that's in the middle of the room. A TV hangs on the wall in front of me and on the walls are pictures of Clive and Susan's wedding. I fish my phone out my pocket and decide to check the time. It's only half-past three. The actual hell... Goddess help me.

~Rosie A knock on the door wakes me. I barely have enough time to force my eyes open before Time glides into my room. He tugs the curtains open swiftly, allowing the light to stream right into my heavy eyes. It has to be some ungodly hour of the morning, considering how much my body protests. Plastering my sheets to my chest, I sit up, shielding my hands up against the light.

VALENCIA'S POV I walked into my house, feeling tired and hungry. I glanced at my wrist watch, it's 12:30 AM in the middle of night. The house was silent, the evidence of everyone gone to their rooms. I walked into the kitchen and opened the refrigerator and took a bottle of water. ‘‘Woof! Woof!’’ Tommy and Rocky barks beside me. I squats down to their level and patted their heads. ‘‘Shhh…don't be too loud!! Let's go to my room.’’ I whispered and they nodded their heads. I got up and took out their food and walked towards my room with them behind me.

But it was the most perfect way to leave. How do I leave the house though? “Okay, at least I made progress,” I said to myself. I got up and walked to my door, swinging it open to find the hallway ... .empty? “This is weird.” I whisper. There's always a guard on me. Where are they now? What's the time? I hurried back inside quickly, looking at the clock on the bedstand. “5 o'clock, pm.” Lunch break. I would have been reading now. I was usually alone by this time. I wasn't stupid, I'm sure there were cameras everywhere.

I yelled surprisingly. “Why are you surprised?” He asked confidently with a smiling face. “Come over here, please.” He exclaimed with a beam. “What are you doing here?” I demanded a response immediately. “This is my house, I can go anywhere I want.” He replied angrily. “Do you have to remind me that this house is yours? I just” I said. As I opened my eyes, sunlight streamed through the window, warm and blinding. A cool breeze brushed my skin, making me realize the day was far spent. I checked the time—9:00 AM.

My stomach let out a sharp, empty growl, reminding me that I hadn't eaten a single thing since the chaos of the previous night. I checked the digital interface on the bedroom wall. It was 4:45 PM. The gold-and-amber rays of the late afternoon sun were beginning to wane, casting long, dramatic shadows across the minimalist hallways. The penthouse was dead silent, the only sound the distant, faint hum of the fully restored climate control units. "He’s probably back in his office," I murmured to myself, steeling my resolve.

I always wake up before noon, but as my heavy eyes finally react to the sunlight, the red numbers on my bedside digital clock cause me to blink severally. 2 pm? It's 2 pm?! I sit up in shock as I stare at the clock a little longer before I notice Tyler's note next to it.
