I did not know that King Water was a rock star with good moves like a professional dancer. I knew that his back was aching because he winced, but he was ignoring that.

Shadows flicker red beneath my door now, dancing like cruel spirits. “Run!” The word echoes in my skull. The door bursts inward in a spray of sparks and splintered wood. But I regretted how much truth was In it. The music came on. Slow and calm. The kind that doesn’t ask permission, just expects you to move. “Dance with me?” He held out his hand like there was any version of this where I would say no. I did hesitated, staring at him for second— and then I took his hand.

When I look at him, his blue eyes riveted on me, I forget everyone else around us and my music becomes all for him. This bond we have crackling and flaming between us is growing stronger, and I can feel it despite the adversity that seems intent on pushing us apart. The flames of the fire symbolise the passion I have always dreamed of. I feel it sparking and igniting our hearts to forge together. Since that day we first met, it has grown brighter and steadier, the embers never going out but becoming hotter. This fire could ravage through all in its path, leaving us in ashes. Or it could continue steadily with the right choices we make -- selfless and sacrificial.

It sounded like a dark song as it echoed through the crumbling halls. "Do you think you can get through to me?" His deep, cold voice made fun of her. "I'll burn the way for you." As the floor started to crack under my feet, I clenched my teeth and backed away. I had to find another way up. Before he did, I had to get to Elara. However, the flames suddenly shot up very high and curled toward me as if they were alive, being pushed by something much scarier than just fire. And somewhere past the light of the fire, footsteps came closer.
