After a brief silence, detective Jones broke the silence and asked "what do you think maria?“ “About what?” “This, of course!” detective Jones said increasing his tone. “Calm down partner. Anyways, I think we're dealing with a nasty serial killer that has an obsession with flowers” Maria joked. “It's not just that. But wait, I think am beginning to get the pieces, according to the woman, a white rose represents chastity and purity,now a blood stain on it would mean what? The chastity or purity have been stained and how is that possible?”

I grunted in pain as she managed to discard all the four bullets in my arm, putting them into a bowl. She then retrieved one, which she showed to me. “Silver bullets, Collins. What happened to you? This isn't a joke, please. Whoever wanted to kill you, wanted you dead.” She proceeded to sniff them, “Just like I suspected, dipped in garlic and a ginger mixture. One of these in your chest region, and you would've considered your Alpha status gone. Silver bullets don't spare even the strongest of wolves, brother.” I stared at the bullet in her hand, which was covered by the plastic emergency gloves worn by the nurses.

His voice was low as he answered my unasked question, “The bullets are laced with Wolfsbane.” I turned the gun over, its weight grounding me, and grinned. “Sweet.” The wolfsbane was a nasty touch—perfect for rogues. My mind flickered to Anna, her scent still clinging to me, but I shoved it down. The pack came first. Another rustle, sharper, closer. I sniffed the air, but the scent was cloaked, sharp and floral, like a veil over the truth. “Dead man’s flower,” I growled, my voice cutting through the squad’s tension. “They’re masking their tracks. Stay alert.”

Because we’ll definitely take exception to that.” She shook her head, her fingers nervously twisting the stem of her glass as she said, “I just want to know what I’m dealing with. With a mischievous grin, she removed one of her boxing gloves and flexed her fingers menacingly. "Talk? Well, let's see if you can talk after this!" Davina exclaimed, launching into a flurry of playful boxing moves, her wild energy turning into a comical display of boxing prowess. Mel yelped and instinctively ducked, narrowly avoiding Davina's playful punches. Xavier couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity of the situation. It seemed that even unexpected visitors were not safe from the chaos that often engulfed their home.

I grin. “Is that all you’re taking?” Beste asks in disapproval. “No,” I say, sticking my tongue at her, making her chuckle. I move to a different area and proceed to grab a belt, that I strap around my hips, and then grab two cadmium daggers from the wall and attach them to the belt. Between the two of us, we now have every substance that can harm or kill a sanguidae. Beste’s grenades contain bloodroot, which is a flower. We dry and pulverise it into a powdered form and add it to grenades for quick use. Bloodroot won’t kill them, but it will hurt like hell. Even a little amount can cause them enough burning pain to knock them off their feet.

He asked, laughing after he had made the statement. “...and what's the content of that box?" He went on, looking at the box as if I held a piece of trash. “Leaves or seeds perhaps!" He exclaimed, roaring into a bigger laughter. “James!" He called. “Yes sir!" “Get ready to open my loads of gifts, I will tell you when to" And with that, Kevin walked in falling the bouquet of flowers I held intentionally, and stepping on them before he shut the entrance door on my face.

They were regular bullets with no intention of damaging beyond delaying people. I look at my snipers. They were good at what they did. Sometimes too good. “What did you do?” I ask them both. Looking at one another they smirk. “We had a new bullet we wanted to test out, boss,” they say to me. Looking at them I wait for their reply. “We added wolfsbane to silver bullets with a special infection added for good measure,” they say proudly.

He closed the distance between them and directed their white-hot fire up around them in a bubble. The stadium filled with gunfire. Bullets impacted the shield and melted as they hit, falling to the ground in puddles of metal. Alex's ears trembled with the piercing sound. Jack reached to cover them. His own felt like they were going to explode. The bullets kept coming, but the white fire held them at bay. He pressed her head into his shoulder. He reached up, melting the cuffs holding her in place. She sagged against him.
