I muttered to myself as I rubbed my temples. The past few weeks had been a whirlwind of negotiations and paperwork to try and convince the humans that it wasn’t the moontea that was the problem but rather their overconsumption of it, but it had finally paid off. The moontea trade was set to be reinstated between Moonrise and the human world, which would save Moonrise’s economy from collapse—and it would save our relationship, as well.

Stefan responded defensively. “Of course not, but I just happened to know that no one else has been informed that it is the Blood Moon Pack’s doing, but of course you're not the one,” Aurora interjected sarcastically with a dismissive wave as she adjusted her position on the chair. “But we both know why you’re here. Now, let’s get to the point. What is it you want?” Stefan cleared his throat. “I wanted to propose an alliance between the Sunset Dawn Pack and the Moonlight Pack.”

He gulps the last of his water, crushes the empty bottle in his hand until it scrunches into a ball, then hurls the fisted plastic into the farthest depth of the forests beyond us at inhuman speed. The baritone in his voice drops a notch below. “We’ll end him.” I'm about to ask what the plan will be in detail, when my mind drifts to the date of the next full moon. Only a few days away now, the date coincides with… the night of the School's Winter Formal. Shane balls both his hands into fists, inhaling, then stares up at the reddening sky. “Dreadborn will fall on the next full moon. I'll make damn certain of it.”

I don't have time for a mate. "Welcome everyone to our Red Moon Festival. Please make yourselves comfortable. The run will start in approximately 10 minutes! We will meet back here after the run and announce any mated couples should you be so lucky to find the other half of your soul bestowed upon you by the Moon Goddess herself! Let's have a fun run everyone!" I finish speaking loudly to the giant crowd as I meet the other Alpha's and Luna at the bottom of the stairs.

Chapter Thirteen I woke up to the sunshine steaming through the window. I let out a yawn and stretched my tired body out. My arms still ached from all the work from yesterday. I jumped out of the bed and quickly washed then got dressed. I could not afford upset the alpha anymore. I knew full well that if I wasn't up and making breakfast for the pack, then I would be beaten again. I prepared pancakes and helped the other omegas to set up the dining hall. It was almost seven am before we had finally got everything completed.

The bond thrummed louder here, low and steady, like someone knocking from the other side of a door. “Theres tracks,” Tern called softly. “ They’re fresh.” Kade moved to him. I followed, each step careful. On the far bank, marks cut the mud, there were boot prints, three pairs, in and out. On our side, old prints overlay new ones. My skin tightened. “Blackthorn,” Lena said. “Two males and one female.” “How long ago did they come through?” Kade asked. “Before dawn.” The pull in my chest pressed and then eased, as if something out there recognized me and chose not to announce it. I swallowed.

" I paused, taking my gaze at Vanessa whose gaze met mine and I smiled. The pack erupted into cheers, hopeful everyone was expecting her to win this but then. They didn't know her secret. Only Mira, Ariel, and I did and if Vanessa could have tried escaping then I will make sure she pays in a hard way by revealing her dark secret to the pack before banishing her. "If she succeeds," I continued, "she'll become my Luna." I pronounced. Mira and Ariel exchanged a nervous glance. "But if she fails..." I paused, my gaze locking onto Vanessa.

Rowena says, standing up and walking out of the coffee shop, leaving gutted. My phone buzzes and I look down to see Micah is calling. Of course, he has the best timing. “Yes, Micah.” I sigh out, closing my eyes as the sound of his voice washes over me. “Fiona, I just found that Silver Moon Scents in the running for the funding we are offering. If you believe that you are done with your fits, then we can get on with things. Silver Moon Scents can get the funding they requested, and we can go back to normal.”

“Wren did say that the amount of wolfsbane in your body was lethal.” My baby almost died. Just thinking about it made me so fucking angry. I was ready to tear the world apart. “That’s weird.” Emma mumbled. “Not for you.” Drake smiled. “You are the True Luna. I raised my hand to shield my eyes, blinking away the brightness. "Mommy, let's have breakfast!" Alvin insisted again, his energy boundless. I forced myself to sit up, groaning slightly as I did. That’s when I noticed Orion standing at the doorway, smirking. His amused expression immediately made me self-conscious, and I quickly adjusted my disheveled nightgown. "Wow, I thought you’d never get up," he chuckled lightly. "Come on. There’s lava cake waiting." "Um, I’m on a diet," I replied, trying not to sound overly self-conscious.
