Marked by fate
I smell the food before they’ve even cleared the doors, rich and warm, and delicious, my stomach growls loudly.
The warrior pauses, looking slightly embarrassed. “This was sent up for you all.”
I frown slightly, glancing at the covered trays.
“From Beta Kayla,” he adds quickly, like he’s just remembered.
Of course, she’s stepped in. With the Luna here and both units tied up, someone has to keep things running. Typical Mum. Feeding people is one of her super powers. She’s a firm believer that everything is better on a full stomach.
“Thank you. That’s very thoughtful. Please pass on our regards,” Sophie says, her Luna aura reaching out and smoothing over the warrior’s nerves.
