His wrinkled face looked like it was crawling with countless wriggling worms. I shuddered and stepped back, whispering to Silvia, "Good thing I've got you. This place is terrifying." She snorted and suddenly shoved me forward, straight toward George. With an icy laugh, she said, "This pretty boy will make a great offering. You're going to love him." Before I could react, George gestured, and several eerie puppets stepped forward to pin me down and drain my blood. A sharp bell rang out, echoing through the night.

Somewhere, he could still hear the waves although he could only see blackness where the sea should be. Looking down, Jon saw that the light from the library was still on. Jon wondered about his client's nocturnal habits and whether he would need to adjust his work hours as well to match his client's. Suddenly, Jon saw something move from the corner of his eye. It seemed to have come from the library window, but he could not be sure. Just as he was convincing himself that he was just too sleepy and conjuring images out of nothing, he saw a black creature move across the wall of the mansion like a giant lizard. Chapter 45: Nightmares Girl Night came faster than expected. I have been curled in my room reading different novels, which had kept me busy most of the time. The stories were a good distraction from everything happening around me. Suddenly, a heavy wind blew so loudly, hitting against my large window with so much force I thought it might break. I suddenly looked upwards, towards the window, and my heart froze completely. I saw someone so familiar, their hair looked rough and wild, like something that came straight out from a horror movie and their eyes looked so wild, like only the white part of their eyes was visible, rolled back in a way that made my stomach turn.

The deafening silence only intensifies my fear, leaving me with a sinking feeling that something truly horrific has occurred. I took my step after standing paralyzed for so long, one step at a time, slowly. And as my feet move, the scene before my eyes gets much more horrifying. The furniture is overturned, the walls are splattered with blood, and a chilling breeze sends shivers down my spine. My heart races as I realize that I am not alone in this house, and the unknown presence lurking in the shadows only fuels my terror.

The scene at the Gables’ porch was no longer a private tragedy. The initial, piercing scream had acted like a grim summons, pulling people from their homes and their morning routines. They gathered in a loose, hesitant semicircle, a silent, growing audience to the horror. The air, once fresh with the promise of dawn, was now thick with the metallic tang of blood and the low, anxious hum of murmured voices. Faces, pale and drawn in the morning light, were etched with a familiar dread—the kind that came from knowing that no walls, no matter how well-fortified, could ever truly keep the darkness out.

This morning, I'm still so worried. I didn't get much sleep! I kept having horrible nightmares. In some, I was being chased by a family of zombies through the manor house, in others, I was the Bathory's meal. This food thing is really getting to me. All the little details I've put together is making me reflect on the nature of my hosts. And on the darkness surrounding them. I see Sarah coming to meet me. She looks more rested than I am. It's not very surprising considering...

Helena crouched in the shadows, the thick most of the night helping to conceal her, heart pounding with adrenaline as she scanned the area for any sign of movement. The air was thick with the scent of fear and the coppery tang of blood. She knew she was getting closer to her target, a rogue vampire who had been terrorizing the town for weeks.

I apologize that this book is really short with less than 30k words in all. I plan to edit it at some point and make it better. I figured that a really long Horror book might be less interesting and would just seem drawn out. I've not read a lot of them but I watch horror movies so I wrote this like I would picture an Horror movie. I appreciate all those who stuck with me and read Reincarnation regardless. Thank you all.
