My heart quickened as I glanced at the others in our group, wondering if they, too, sensed the tension in the air or if it was merely a figment of my imagination. Alyssa's voice took on an eerie cadence as she introduced the Third Brother, the Lord of Frost. A Lycan of icy demeanour and calculated brutality. His thirst for power and dominance in the pack was evident in the stories told. The descriptions of calculated brutality sent shivers down my spine, mirroring the whispers of the Lord of Frost's ruthlessness.

Orion chuckled wickedly, caressing her face with his thumb. He looked angry and scary now but April wasn't scared. She just felt like she was with a stranger; a bipolar stranger. "You are not my brother!" April snapped. "Yes, I am!" Orion thundered back, "You can't change that, April, I will always be your brother so the faster you get those illicit thoughts out of your head, the better it is for you. I won't condone inappropriate words and actions from you anymore," Orion seethed. April violently pushed away his hands that held the side of her face and Orion looked more angry. His hand went to the back of her neck and he held it firmly while she struggled to get it off.

He had an insatiable appetite that he wasn't afraid to delve into without consequence. Now all he saw were her amethyst eyes with bloody flecks of teal and gold. He couldn't escape from them. He shook his head, chuckling bitterly to himself. His soul ached for Briar. His eyes lapped her up, absorbing greedily every glimpse of her that he was blessed with. He knew himself quite well and he knew this was much different from all the others he had the pleasure of knowing, but he couldn't prove a bloody thing to her. They were strangers save for some pleasurable stolen moments. Moments that would've never happened if it hadn't been his brother.

Alexander “Fuck!” I roared, chucking the glass of whiskey in my hand across the room. I watched it smash against a wall opposite me, but somehow, it did nothing to alleviate the frustration coursing through my veins. How can Derrick be this stupid??? It’s meant to be a dinner between us, Katherine Weillman, Myself, Derrick, Peter Kellerman and a few others. This wasn’t how tonight was supposed to go at all. My brother had my blood boiling within just a split second of opening his mouth.

"You think you’re in a position to grant me anything? My wife bled for this land. My brother-in-law was hunted like a dog. My son... my son was marked by your greed before he even took his first breath." "We want peace, Alpha," another lord whispered. He was younger, his face pale with fear. "The Void... it’s hungry. If we don't unite, it will swallow us all." I took a step closer to him, my height towering over him. I let the wolf push to the surface, my eyes burning with a hot, golden light that made him stumble back.

I mutter, and he arches an eyebrow. “Excuse me?” “You act all fucking sage, but you’re no model of self control, C,” I criticize. “Almost sucked me dry on three separate occasions—” “When I was gravely injured, drained, and not in my right mind,” he excuses. “So you’re planning to keep nice and full from now on then, I take it?” I can’t keep the edge from my tone. Watching him suck dry my brother just now… It’s got me on edge. Turned out more upsetting than I predicted, just like the thought of him sucking on and feeding his blood to dozens of other fellas in every city he visits... “You gonna keep a full harem of thralls on hand for when dinner time rolls around?”

Ghost growls; he’s standing off to the side but close enough that he can jump in front of Elle if Phelan tries to pull something. “Alpha Gideon, Luna Elle, I come to beg your forgiveness.” Phelan says so loudly that several people in the crowd turn to look at him. “My brother has done some disgusting things to this Pack and I know he deserves what is about to happen. I’m a coward; I get scared easily and my first instinct is to run as far and as fast as I can. I’m not running now. I’m here to tell you that I had no idea what my brother was doing or why he did it. I beg that you don’t cast me aside into the open world; I need this Pack even if you don’t need me.” Phelan is practically shaking

“It’s why the drink that Bree gave her affected her so much, because it wasn’t her wolf consuming it.” Everything was starting to make sense. It was why she didn’t heal properly, why she was able to fight the mate bond. It was why she threw up at the sight of her dead friend. “We marked a human?” Xander mutters. “That doesn’t make sense. Her parents were Alpha’s, her is brother is….” His eyes flash away from mine. “Her brother is dead, isn’t he?” It was what they both had told me. He screws his face up at me. “Is he still alive?”

Bobbing my head in approval of the kid's banter, I eyed him carefully, not seeing a scratch on him; my brother, however, seemed to support a split lip, cut across his eyebrow and an impressive black eye. "Given the improvements to his face, I am gonna say no!" I expressed, looking at my brother, who was taking another long pull on the bottle of whiskey he had stolen from me. My brother was right. The human shit wouldn't touch the sides for us wolves, so I had commissioned our very own supernatural brand of alcohol known throughout our community as Hell Fangs. It tasted the same but hit harder, giving us paranormal creatures the relief we sometimes needed, loosening our tongues and ridding us
