"Alone."
My brother, Carson, laughed and threw his arm around my shoulder, pulling me close like we were old friends instead of siblings who rarely speak to eachother. His breath reeked of whiskey, and his grip was too tight.
"You need to let loose sometimes, little brother," he said, his voice dripping with mock affection. "All that science and research is going to burn you out. Come on, have a drink. Relax."
He turned to the room and raised his glass, shouting over the music. "A toast! To my younger brother, the genius, the hero, the man who found the cure to that nasty virus! Thanks to him, we can all get back to our pleasures without consequences!"
