Valerie asks questions once again, peering out the glass window next to them at the rain. “Yes, but isn't it lovely to have someone wait on you or simply be there for you?” Ellen agreed as she looked out the window at the pouring rain, Valerie smiled as she leaned her head against the glass window, listening to the rain. ‘My empress, wake up and return to me right now...Zhilux’ The voice calls out to her again, this time with an unusual name, prompting her to open her eyes and turn to look around the restaurant.

“This can't be….” I threw back the blanket and stumbled toward the full-length mirror near the window. The woman staring back at me wasn't the broken ,hollowed-out Luna who had been executed. Her skin was smooth, pale, and entirely unmarked. The faint, jagged line on her chin - the scar I had carried since the night I pulled Asher from a pack of rogue wolves in the thorn thickets was gone. It odd considering it was only six thirty but perhaps he wanted to avoid an awkward encounter with her. Furina packed her things and quickly left the building. She needed to talk to her friends again, to get their perspective on the latest developments. She arranged to meet them at the café once more, hoping they could help her navigate this complicated situation.

“Hello, my name is Emma. I’m Luna of Broken Mt. Pack. You’re safe here. The wolves with me are my Alpha who also welcomes you. Our medical team is here to provide care to everyone” Every face is staring at me, but no one has spoken. Finally one girl breaks the silence. “How can we trust you? Sorry I don’t mean to disrespect Luna but we were snatched from our homes, taken to Erik’s pack and kept as slaves. How do we know that won’t happen again?”.

There was an undertone of command in it that made my newly transformed wolf restless. “What?” I had asked, turning back to face him reluctantly. I just wanted to go, to start my revenge, to watch Damien’s face when he realized what he’d lost. Silas had stepped closer, his presence filling the small cabin. “When you become Luna, you’ll help me with grants to support my little town. There are people here who depend on me, Clara. They need resources, money, supplies. And you’ll be in the perfect position to provide them.” I remembered nodding quickly, not really listening to the details. “Of course, whatever you need.”
