I stood alone in the sunrise, the sapphire glow of my own engine feeling like a mocking reminder of a victory that had turned into a trap. The romance of the Reborn World had lasted exactly ten minutes. I walked to the Norton-construct, my hands shaking as I touched the handlebars. I wasn't staying at the clubhouse. If Sienna thought she could collect a debt on the man I loved, she was about to find out that the Ghost doesn't follow the ledger. I engaged the Pursuit-Mapping. The sapphire light of the bike turned a fierce, vengeful violet. "You want to collect, Sienna?" I whispered, the engine snarling beneath me. "Then you're going to have to catch me first."

Dante's POV "What a rotten bike like its rotten owner,” Joy jeered before retrieving back her helmet from Lex's presently flaming bike. She had thrown it in Lex’s bike's wheel just moments before her mate was going to cross the finish line. "You cheated !” the fallen loser cried out from the ground. I yell at him, trying to ignore the feeling I get when he talked about my mates dead. He nods, “Maybe, but I wanted you, and since that can’t happen, I’ll settle for this.” He tells me, and I shake my head. Gunner’s powers are nearly melting me, and I throw a shield around Issac and Jordan just in time for Gunner to blow. Fire flies from his body at a speed I couldn’t even expect. My body goes flying through the air and my head slams against the wall.

I pulled my foot back from his knee, my throat burning. "Why? Why would you do this with Giselle? You know she is the only true friend I have in this world." Jordan stood up and sat beside me, a trace of helplessness softening his sharp features. "I'm a man. I have physical needs," he reasoned. Victor laughed. “We should kill her.” Justice said in finality then added, “Look at her! Fucking bitch, I could smell her lust for Leonidas Maximilian from here!” That made Victor laugh harder. Exasperated Justice could only glare then he said, “Why don’t we just make Leonidas one of us? Turn him into a wolf?” he crossed his arms over his chest, “You saw he was fast in the ice right? He’s not just some weakling human.”

After shutting the door he jogged his way to the driver side, gave one final nod to Adrien before getting into the car. Jedi, who sat behind the passenger seat, rolled down his window and looked at their friends. “See you there,” he said. Jackson smiled at him. “We’ll be right behind you,” he said and leaned against the window to look at Luca. “Remember to breathe.” Luca gave him a small smile and nodded. Jackson patted the window sill then stepped back as Adrien pulled away from the curb. The car was silent as Wilder drove them through the streets. Luca clung tightly to Liam and Jedidiah’s hands. No one said a word till they pulled up to the court house.

“Either way, the matter is resolved.” Jack turned back to me. “What do you think, Ghost? Will you accept this?” The nickname hit me hard. Ghost. My Steel Vulture name. The identity I’d built with them over five years. “I think Sable would want us to fight together,” I said finally. “She always believed in second chances.” Jack nodded slowly. “Then we’ll stand with Blackhowl. The Steel Vultures will fight beside you against Zeus.” Relief flooded through me, mixing with the lingering grief and pain. It wasn’t forgiveness, not completely. But it was a path toward healing.
