IN THE BEGINNING May 21st, 2010 It was around five thirty in the evening when he reached the diner, the clouds clustered in a blur dark grey, the rain bounced off the windscreen as the whipers swished side to side in an attempt to see clearly. He switched the engine off, stepping out of the large black pickup truck. Authority radiated from his tall, muscular frame, his slicked his dirty blonde hair back as the rain soaked it. His hazel eyes held a hint of anger, a human had come into his diner and held a gun to one of his sixteen year old waitresses. The police had to get involved, there were two police cars out the front of the diner.

After a few moments that honestly felt like an eternity to me, Damien loosened his iron grip on me and pulled back some. He put a hooked finger under my chin and tilted it so we were making eye contact. “I don’t care if you’re a Hunter." He said, and I could tell he was being sincere. He truly didn't care. He knew what he wanted, and that was me, Hunter or not.

Almost everyone one of the attackers was on the ground, looking like they had just stepped into the sun. “Holy shit…” I exclaimed as I looked at the hunter as he put some weapon back under his jacket, turning to look at me. I don’t know if that comment was because hunters have a weapon that powerful or because Diana was right. He is attractive.

Hanadin threw me a suspicious smile and fluttered his eyes. “Ain't that a bit too fast?” He squeaked. “Well, honey, nothing’s too fast in this modern age,” he said, answering his own question. He brought out his cellphone from his back pocket and started scrolling through it, then pulled out a picture of Chris Stevens, whom they all knew as Doctor Rowan. He walked to me and stretched his phone forward, flagging the image in my face. “He is hot, I get it. I've caught Gina staring at him too.”

Those demeaning words made my heart wrench tightly. "We still have to practice, Henry. Let's go to the locker room." I noticed the shift in Jason's mood before he stepped forward, getting Henry's attention. Henry's eyes flashed with disappointment as he looked at me. "Let's say you are lucky today... See you around." Henry winked at me, then ruffled my hair before walking out of the ballroom, not before throwing Jason a glare. I had no idea what happened, but that was definitely not a friendly glare.
