The girl seemed scared and helpless.” I’m Edriana Rose, witch of the sorceress’ circle, forced to become Rouge. ” she concluded. I looked at her, cuts and bruises were visible in her skin. She looked pale and starved. She must have been abused. "Penelope, get her treated and then bring her to me in my office,” I Said. She nodded and quickly took this Edriana wherever it was she was going.

A soft knock on the door made me jump. "It's just me," a voice called. Female. Young. "I brought food." I hesitated. Kael had said no one could talk to me without his permission. Was this a test? "He said I could," the voice added, like she'd read my mind. "I'm Sage. The pack healer's daughter. I'm not... I won't hurt you." Slowly, I stood and opened the door.
