Immediately, I started to stutter, "Uh, I'll just go get the food now…" "Why are you not wearing your glasses?" Was the first thing he asked. I touched my face, and yeah, my glasses were absent. I always wore them since I lost my memories. At 17, I had always believed that my glasses were a part of me, well, until I met 'the mean girls'. Now, I had regained everything, and at 22, I did not really care much about wearing my glasses all the time.

He made it very difficult to remain a stranger to someone who refused to let you. I looked up at the crown in its glass case one more time, glittering and indifferent, and found something almost steadying in the fact that it had outlasted every secret this palace had ever tried to keep from it.
