"Good night... Mrs. Batman." The room exploded with laughter again. Evelyn smiled so widely that her cheeks hurt. "Good night, sweetheart." Naomi tucked Leo into bed. He placed Captain beside his pillow. "Mama?" "Yes?" "I like Evelyn." Naomi smiled. "I'm glad." "She's kind." "Yes." Leo closed his eyes. "Do you think she'll come again?" Naomi gently brushed his hair back. "We'll see." Leo nodded. "I hope she does." Within minutes, he was asleep.

Miley said. “ Don’t worry am at home” Steven replied and ended the call He exhaled deeply and turned to Yan whose eyes were already closed. “ Thank goodness she’s asleep” He heaved. He removed his coat and covered her with it He stood up and grabbed Yan’s bag but something fell off which caught his attention. He bent and picked it up. It was a note book or should I say a dairy. He slowly sat back on the couch, flipping through some pages. He knew he was invading her privacy but his curiosity was killing him.

I didn’t look like the same woman who used to smile so easily. The house was quiet again. Too quiet. I turned off the light, pulled back the covers, and crawled into bed. Alone. Again.

A small nightlight shaped like a rocket ship glowed in the corner. "Mummy, can you read me a story?" Bernard asked, his big eyes looking up at her hopefully. She smiled and brushed his hair back. "Of course, sweetheart. Which one?" "The one about the brave knight!" Mrs. Harrington reached for the book on the nightstand and began reading. Her voice was soft and soothing, painting pictures of castles and dragons in the boy's imagination. Within minutes, Bernard's eyelids grew heavy, and soon he was fast asleep. She kissed his forehead gently, turned off the main light, and stepped out of the room, closing the door quietly behind her.

I lay back on the bed, pulling the blanket over my chest. Forget them, Tessa. Just let it go. I closed my eyes and drifted off. For the first time in a long time, I slept without dreaming. When I woke up, the sky outside was dark. A knock came at the door. “Tessa? You awake?” “Yes,” I called. Tom peeked in. “What do you want for dinner? Want to go out or stay in?” “Maybe stay in?” He grinned. “Figured. I already ordered groceries. They’ll be here any minute.”

Remembering the dream that he had the previous night, he felt that he had been given another chance at life. He knocked on the door but no one answered. He did not want to barge in the girl’s room so early in the morning, it might startle her and she might think that he was a freak. “Sir, the young Miss is not in there.” the servant who was cleaning the corridor came over when she saw that Tom was about to push the door open. “It is still so early in the morning. Where is she?” Tom asked, stunned. “Oh, the young Miss and Young Master Reid are having a morning run. They just left not long ago.” the servant said.

“Okay, guys. Let's head to the study room. I've got something amazing to show you guys. Elektra skipped to the study room. It was a rectangular space with hundreds of books on the shelf. College was taking a toll on him, or was it his missing wolf? Alcinder reads too much if that's a thing. I mean, this is a lot of books. “Hey! Snap out of your endless thoughts”. Elecktra brought out a giant and rusty book. It had a black cover with gold writings on it and it smelt ancient. It was parched up in many places, it looked like it would fall apart if handled carelessly. At the other end, Alcinder kept watching me with curious eyes. What was his problem today? The second the door shut behind her, the office became quiet again. Still… for some reason, concentrating became harder afterward. I forced myself back into work anyway. The rest of the day passed in meetings and endless paperwork until evening finally arrived. By the time I returned home, darkness had already settled outside. A maid approached me the moment I stepped into the mansion. “Good evening, Mr. Knight.” I removed my watch slowly. “Has she woken up?” The maid hesitated slightly. “No, sir.” My expression hardened faintly. “She’s been sleeping all day?”
