I opened it to find an animated sticker—a cute little cat apologizing.
I didn’t bother scrolling through the rest of his messages.
Taking a deep breath, I pressed delete.
Nine years of chat history vanished in an instant. My fingers trembled slightly as I stared at the now blank screen.
After steadying myself, I walked out of the airport. My mom had already texted to say they were waiting outside. I couldn’t let them notice anything was wrong. I didn’t want them to worry.
I was worried about how I’d find my parents in such a crowded airport, but from a distance, I spotted a large banner that read, “Welcome home, our darling Gina!”
