The smell of gingerbread and cinnamon filled the air making my stomach rumble. A low growl sounded from the top of the stairs leading up to the bedrooms. There stood my mom's biggest baby. Her purebred Doberman. His black fur mixed with the shadows the nightlight cast in the hallway. His brown eyes glowing in the light. “Settle down, Creed, you big baby,” I muttered. As soon as he heard my voice, he shot down the stairs, his body doing a full wiggle as he sniffled me. I knelt down and pulled his face to mine, scrunching his cheeks as I kissed his snout. He returned the kiss by licking the whole side of my face.

Aiden’s voice was soothing and gentle, reaching the paw. Charlie… the two months old baby I had in mind, had thick, wavy fur around his body and heavy fur on his tail, thighs, and neck. He also barked at Aiden… a cute bark that made Deborah say, “Aw, so cute,” and wagged his tail as he sniffed my best friend’s hand. Charlie is not a baby but an adorable Golden Retriever puppy. “Charlie’s a dog?” I murmured, not exactly wanting to say it out loud.

I bent down and scooped the sixty-some-pound dog into my arms. I smoothed the white fur along Koda's back, then lifted my head and swept my gaze across the silent crowd. "Take a good look, everyone." My voice carried to every corner of the grounds. "This is my son Koda." "A two-year-old purebred Samoyed." Every drop of color drained from Gloria's face. Her lips trembled violently. "No... that's impossible!" She stumbled backward, gaping at the dog in my arms. "You're lying!" I raised an eyebrow, perfectly composed.

His playful grin was contagious. Almost immediately after she stepped inside, she was greeted by more than forty pounds of excited fur and muscle. A Border collie barked happily, jumping up and bouncing against her legs. “Chase! Down!” Gabe ordered firmly. Chloe laughed, kneeling to let the black-and-white dog sniff her before she gently petted him. “He’s adorable.” “He’s a pain in the ass sometimes,” Gabe grumbled. The dog quickly settled, lying on his back for a belly rub. Chloe smiled, knowing Gabe didn’t mean his words. The affection in his tone gave him away.

Inside the bustling pet market, my best friend, Emily Summers, who’d always been terrified of dogs, rushed up to the pet shop owner, not even bothering to ask the price before claiming Snowy the fluffy white poodle for herself. Then, she quickly scooped Snowy into her arms, clutching it like she was afraid I’d snatch it away. Watching her, I instantly knew she had been reborn too.

But we kept on watching. Our eyes ran around the little pup's body while examining the body features. It had a small body with winter-white fur. But around the neck and back, purple fur was highlighted within the white coat. It had its two ears raised straight and its tail wagging as it yapped after the butterfly. 'Strange.' I muttered. 'What is?' Blue asked. 'That thing doesn't have a scent.' I pointed out. Blue was silent for a while as he kept a few steps toward the pup. Blue and I shared the same thought. That pup wasn't anyone from the Blue Crystal Pack as we tried to scent it. What was more alarming was how it DIDN'T have a scent!

Daisy keeps easy pace with us. I watch Daisy from the corner of my eye—tongue hanging out, tail wagging. “What kind of dog is he?” I ask because I can’t take it anymore. “He’s a shepadoodle.” I glance her way in surprise. “A what?” “German shepherd standard poodle mix,” she replies with a straight face. “They’re in very high demand.” “For crazy people,” I mutter. “My family will tell you I’m crazy. What of it? We all need a bit of insanity in our lives. People shouldn’t live in a sterile box like you do.”

“Have you found a pet that you like, sir? I can take it out of the cage for you to look at it up close.” “It’s fine.” Brendan backed further away and tried to remember the puppy’s appearance with great effort. “I would like to get a black puppy with brown fur on top of its head. About one month old.” The pet shop owner felt troubled, as it would not be easy to get a puppy with brown fur on top of its head. In addition, the customer had requested a specific age. “Sir, your request is…” “Too difficult?” Brendan pulled his black card out of his wallet and tossed it on the table. “Money is not an issue if you can get it.”

Most people buy them as puppies but I always buy mine 18 or over, it's just weird knowing your future sex toy as a puppy. The pup I've picked out is 19 years old, has beautiful auburn hair, one of his ears of floppy, and his tail is so soft but the fur isn't too long so it's not a chore to keep brushed. He's the runt of his litter so he only grew to be 4'10 and he's quite scrawny, although I'm sure with a proper diet and exercise he'll bulk up a bit more. He has lovely brown eyes and light freckles all over his pale body, he's just perfect.
